Okay, so ONE rumor involving Stastny which includes both a top-flight D and a top-flight G prospect coming back, and now everyone is chiming in with "get rid of our spare parts" trade proposals.
Something around Bogosian may possibly make sense, but honestly I think Bernier was more likely to be the initial point of interest for the Avs. I just can't see them moving arguably their highest profile player who has a strong family history with the organization without absolutely solidifying their foundation. That doesn't happen without a goalie.
Why is it mostly the dumb Leafs fans that post here?
Makes us look terrible.
Because all the smart Leafs fans know it'll gut the young talent from the Leafs to get Staz and don't even bother posting.

Since when does Stastny have injury issues? And of course he's struggling. The whole team is struggling. He's a pass first guy. If the scorers are not burying the puck in the net after he feeds them, he can't do much about it.
Mac is playing great, but as has been said, this is the first time he's been scoring like this in his career. Stastny has always hovered around PPG pace. On top of that, the Avs have Mueller and Flash if they are healthy for next year. The 2 1sts are going to be late ones as they belong to solid contenders, and the Avs already have 2 1sts as it is (their own and St. Louis' unless they finish with a top 10 pick). They'd be interested in Aulie, but not at the price of Staz. Proposal doesn't really take Avs' needs into account.
To buffalo stastny and galiardi. To Colorado pomminville and miller
I think the Avs do this. Even if Miller only plays another 5-8 years, he's too good to pass up. I think this works for both teams, but only if Buffalo can afford to let Miller go. Not sure Enroth is good enough yet for them to do that though. Maybe this deal happens in 2-3 years?

This would probably make the most sense. Avs get the top talent natural LW they've been waiting for, Devils solidify their top 2 centers for the next 10 years with Zajac and Staz (pretty defensively responsible top 2 at that). Think this would hinge on Parise actually wanting out though. If Parise isn't asking for a trade, the Devils probably keep him and try and find that other center in the draft or in FA. Better stop winning if they want to draft that center though
Though it could still happen without Parise wanting out, Avs would probably need to add to pry away Parise. But after trading Stewie and Shatty, there isn't much else they could part with without setting the rebuild back a year or two.
Are you quoting me from another thread? I believe that's from the Leafs board (same proposal though as Aulie, Mac, Kadri 2 1st).
That's a ridiculous overpayment and I was just mentioning that Mac has as many points as Stastny although by no means do I suggest they have the same value because they do not, Stastny >> Mac but when you're including a prospect like Kadri with 1st line potential, Aulie who is already playing well going against top lines and 2 1st rounders, that is a massive overpayment.
So what do you expect to pay for a #1 center with his abilities and stat line?
I'd prefer the LA rumor to any of the trades posted here.
as an Avs fan it's clear that we just learned you have to give to get, so if you want to get Stastny, arguably our best forward, you better be willing to give up one of your best players, and perhaps more because #1 centers are hard to find
I'm probably going to be flamed by my own base, but I'd do that trade instantly. Pavelec is a great goalie, but I believe that a two-way point per game center could really boost Kane's performance. Furthermore, it would really take the pressure off of Little and Ladd. Bogosian is going to be good, but I believe that Atlanta may not be the place for him to prosper.
Pickard would give us a decent goaltender to groom and there are a plethora of UFA goalies next season. Perhaps we could pick up Vokoun...
One last edition, could the pick be top-10 protected as with the St. Louis trade?
