Oilers&Blue Jackets and Oilers&Senators

To Columbus:
Penner
Cogliano
3rd in 2011

To Edmonton
Brassard
Boll
2nd in 2011

Why Columbus does this? Penner would look real good on a line with Nash. They would be two big bodies that defenders would have trouble handling. Cogliano is still young at 23, and could fit in nicely behind Johanson and Vermette.

Why Edmonton does this? Brassard becomes their number 1 Center, and fills a big whole in the Oilers organization. They also recieve a tough Jared Boll who can grow and develop with the kids in Edmonton. They recieve a 2nd round pick which could be in the 40-45 range.

To Ottawa:
Chorney
Reddox
3rd in 2011

To Edmonton:
Neil

Oilers in 2011-2012
Hall-Brassard-Hemsky
Neil-Horcoff-Eberle
Omark-Gagner-MPS
Jones-Free Agent-Boll

Whitney-Larrson
Peckham-Gilbert
Smid-Free Agent

Thoughts?

According to TSN, an Oil change is not possible for Neil as he put them on his list of ten teams.

No reason to go any farther than that.

Considering the Oilers asking price so far on Penner, I highly doubt they move him for an up-and-down center, an agitator and a second round much pick, much less throw in Cogliano and a 3rd. Also, I don't see Columbus having much of an interest in Penner, as he's like a less physical, less goals Rick Nash.

No to both deals, especially the 2nd one. Chorney and Reddox have been great this season.

I don't see that type of value for Brassard. I'd rather keep Penner. I'd love to do that Neil deal, if it was possible, but honestly, I think Reddox and a 3rd is enough, I'd hang on to Chorney.

1st one is good value but idk about how badly it fills needs for both teams. Both Columbus and Edmonton are looking for franchise centers and defensemen.

From a Columbus POV, the value is fair but the deal doesn't work. Columbus can't send a center and doesn't need a wing much less two of them. Columbus like the Oil need centers and top pairing defensemen.
