you are completely wrong... we have enough space to acquire a $4 million player, not have $4 million in cap space... we'd need to move about $4 million in annual salary to be able to fit Richards

Am I missing something?

Is this the same guy who's a -5 with no points in 17 games for Leafs?

The same prospect who put a meager 9 pts in 36 games in AHL this season?

Don't get me wrong. Aulie could end up being a very good shutdown Dman. He could also become Andrew Alberts.

It's a bit earlier to predict either way, no?
He's been nothing short of excellent since the Beauchemin trade. He's a better, more physical player than he ever was earlier in the season. He was playing ~12 minutes his last call up, he's now logging ~21 a night and has become Wilsons go to PK guy with Schenn.

Yes it may be early, but he has a calming presence out there that nobody but Schenn has given the Leafs this season. To write him off on the -5 rating the he got playing on the 3rd pairing with Lebda/Gunnarsson in November is unfair. The difference in composure from then and now is night and day.

I want Atlanta to pick up Hagman. He proved that he can produce when he was with Toronto.

Phaneuf trade looking better by the day, especially since Aulie and Sjostrom are quality role players.

Hagman has been borderline ****ing useless for the last few months. Three goals since December. Good riddance.

How does this make the Phaneuf trade any better for the Leafs? Hagman being waived doesn't make Phaneuf a better player.

I think he'd be a solid depth pickup for the Coyotes, that is actually one of the teams I think he could do well on and his play style complements the system well.

What they mean to say is, "Hagman being waived strokes my ego which was bruised when I realized Phaneuf was not an all-star."

I'd really love to see the pens grab him, even better yet if they can get him on re-entry!

Who else wouldnt be surprised if the Anaheim Ducks claim him?
The ducks are now filld with Fins: Selanne, Koivu, Lydman, Ruutu, and I hope we land Hagman.
Hagman on a lne with Koivu and Selanne would be awesome.

Nice trade
Actually it's more like Phanuef,Aulie and Sjostrom for Stajan, Babchuk and Kostopolous! Still think Flames are further ahead with what we have!!!

How the hell did the Phaneuf trade get brought up wtf?

Anyways, as a Coyotes fan I feel he would be a good fit here and I hope we claim him.

He has the talent but consistency is a big issue.

Let's make a claim and sign White back this summer!

It would be funny, though.

I think Hags would be a great fit for the Coyotes as he has previously excelled under Tippit, and would probably flourish under his tutelage once again.

Actually, there had been rumors about the Ducks being interested in Hagman in the past (before his trade to Calgary), so I don't really doubt that he is a player Murray would be interested in. However, I would be surprised if we could put in a waiver claim, given his contract and the fact, that he is owed $3 mio. for next season, without being able to send any salary another way.
