Talking about the fact that Jovo's injury may have complicated things.

Gomez has struggled this year, but who takes his place if he is moved for a Dman? The Habs offence can't stand to lose Gomez, without a center coming back...

This rumor is flat out buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuull. The coyotes are bankrupt for crying out loud. 7 million a year till 2014? Do people even think before they make up rumors?

If it means moving Gomez's contract you don't think about that. You dump him like a bad date. Then move on to find a replacement in the offseason.

Who takes gomezs spot? I would take anyone playing at the alumni game over him right now. You get a chance to move gomez you take it.

It's actually only over 7 million next year and then it goes down. Do you even look up facts before you post?

Lars Eller or it frees up cap space for a big run at Brad Richards.

Actually they can with plekanec/deharnais/eller/halpern ... but we still have an offensive lack ... if gomez is out are we in the running for a 1st center (richards/Spezza) or a second center (Connolly/Hýselius) or a third center (Konopka ) ...

I dunno, maybe the 'Yotes sends Belanger and the Habs sends something else to Phoenix? That would make much sense to me...

And Gomez will get 5.5 and 4.5 for the next two seasons, which is something that has to be factored in.

I like Konopka, but he's misused if he's anything else than a 4th C. I actually prefer Eric Belanger taking the 3rd C spot. (I'd love to get Konopka behind Belanger on the depth chart, though).

I wouldn't bust up what they have in Phoenix, moving Jovo makes little sense as they can resign him on the cheap if they wish next year.

I'm sorry guys, I don't have a link. It was Renaud Lavoie on RDS on the pregame show of the Heritage Classic. He wasn't speculating, he was said clearly that the Jovo injury has played into the completion of the trade.

I agree it sounds crazy, I didn't make this up, Lavoie is a pretty close guy to the Habs. He travels with the team, and has contacts.

So basically a team that is bankrupt is going to pay a 40-50 point player almost 20 million over the next 3 years? Yeah, did you think that even meant something or did you just want to catch me in a "fail"? Come on this rumor is a joke and you know it.

Man...
I'd like somebody to give me the difference between Gomez's actual salary for the next three seasons and 20 millions.

But hey, emphasis on misleadings facts seems to be allowed on hfboards.

You know you fail when 17.5 millions must become almost 20 millions in order to actually comment on a news report made a pretty serious media guy.

So, Habs fans can't really do this because they have nobody to take the puck into the offensive zone, and Phoenix can't do this because Jovonovski's value is much higher than Gomez'.
