Even without Sid and Geno in the lineup, this will be a solid team with the acquisition of Neal and Niskanen once we get the rest of our guys back this week:
I think you guys robbed the Stars in this trade. But how cap-compliant is that line-up?
Assuming the cap stays the same:

If cap goes up 3M (as expected), hell we could even make a play at a semi decent free agent.
Nah, more like Neal-Malkin-whoever, leave Staal with Cooke and TK.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who wants Neal with Malkin. Everyone's saying, "Crosby will have someone to play with!" Crosby has Kunitz who up until his injury was playing some pretty damn good hockey.
Obviously for this year, put Neal with Crosby since Malkin's gone for the year. But next year and beyond, put Neal with Malkin. The man deserves a good winger for once.
Post Gazzette says we're going after Kovalev next. Anyone know if we're getting Wallace/Lovejoy tonight, or Neal/Niskanen? Dallas is playing NJ tomorrow, but no idea if they're there already.
Alas this IS a sad day for me in one very special way. I no longer have anyone on this roster with a truly multipurpose name like Giganovski. I mean... Alex ****ing Goglaroskovicz is a bona-fide scoring D with serious skating and wheeler-dealer skills. You don't trade a guy like Golanevski for just anyone. No. You get James ****ING NEAL and a spare D for him. Because he's Alex Grabagovski and don't you all forget it!
Bruins fan. You guys just hosed Dallas so bad lol.
Thanks, yea though I am a pens fan I do see us as winning this deal rather decisively. Though Goligoski has played pretty well and is likely to improve. He's great offensively, defensively not so much but I will say he's been a little more competent there.
holy crap. I hope we keep him long time. merry un-birthday to me.
what number will he wear? selling my car for a James Neal Penguins jersey. lol
Niskanen may turn out to be a good player, btw. Dallas has been a horrible team defensively for over two years. Don't be surprised if Nisk is a consistent performer for the Penguins.

Well Geno did have Malone and Sykora (who was good at that time) but yes I agree completely with the rest of your post.

I would like to see Staal moved back to the 3rd line with Cooke and TK. I like having Jeffrey on one of the top 2 lines, then if the cap goes up sign a winger for the other spot (as much as alot don't like Kovy, I wouldn't mind him back. Move Letestu to the 4th line with Rupp/Adams and Vitale/Tangradi.
