I agree with the 2nd part of your post.
When would Parise be playing with Crosby? Not trying to flame, just saying...we'd need both players together, and signed for more then a year (like Parise). It's gotta be someone that can be acquired in a setting as realistic as the Sedins and Crosby being traded...I guess. Point taken though.

I agree with the 2nd part of your post.
Parise needs a new contract this summer, will get at least 6 million.

Duchene is debatable.

None of Brown, Neal or Stewart + Crosby are better than both Sedins together.

Going to need to find a consistent 80-90 winger to pair with Crosby for it to be a better combination than both Sedins right now... Sedins are just a phenomenal value @ 6 million. Henrik has the most points since the start of last season and the Sedins are #2 and #3 in PPG during that time too (behind only Crosby). They're just playing absolutely unreal hockey right now, better than even the most diehard Canuck homer could have ever expected.

I agree, love the Sedins but I'd trade the pair of them for Crosby + any of the people noted above. I am however one of those people who wish the Canucks were grittier.

Agree to disagree? Or you want to make a poll?

Leafs are still in rebuilding mode, and Burke said he was looking for another d-man and Tanev is showing some great potential.

Canucks get there 4th line center and another fighter, while adding kessel in our top 6 to replace raymond, and add more scoring touch. Yes i understand the canucks wouldn't be able to fit these players under our cap, however mike gillis is the albert einstien of hockey, he would be able to figure something out
Thanks for making me laugh today. What a joke of a proposal, the Canucks would never do this.

I would agree with that statement, I would also make that trade. Crosby + one of those wingers is a better long term solution than both Sedins, mainly because of the massive age difference between them.

Well said. Why do people think he's available for anything less than a massive overpayment that includes quality, not quantity?

What are you trying to accomplish with this post? Kessel is a 23 year old top six forward with a huge upside, and shouldn't be traded for anything but an upgrade. Disagree?

LOL, the last thing the Canucks need (1st in the NHL for GF btw) is a lazy, whining, selfish, one dimensional crybaby.

That's a player losing teams build around.

When you have the Sedins working hard each and every offseason to improve deficits in their game (skating, strength), Kesler working hard to improve his wrister, even a relative newcomer like Alberts working on how he can be better on ice the idea of Kessel coming here is laughable.

Can't see him working on the defensive side of his game, nor even throwing one token hit per game.

This is like suggesting Yashin come play in Van, utterly retarded and ludicrous. Would not take either player for free.

There are much better ways to spend cap space.

Please, let the Canuck fans be disappointed with Hodgson, let's not bring that problem over here. Injury-prone and whines when sent down to the AHL. And all the Canuck fans still think he's a future 1st liner. Gonna be some sad people in Vancouver, and the rest of the league's fans will be laughing at them when it becomes painfully obvious, in a year or two.

Hodgson = THE most over-rated prospect in hockey. For the last three years. 2nd/3rd liner, if he actually makes it. Big. Effin. Deal.

Edit: DAMMIT I responded in the wrong Van-Tor thread. LOL! I agree, these need to stop for a few days.

Counter proposal:

Ryan Kesler, Rick Rypien, Aaron Rome

for

Clarke MacArthur, Jesse Blacker, PHI 1st in 2011, TOR 2nd in 2011

That work for you, OP?

Yep - disagree. I don't think Kessel has huge upside anymore. I'd bet that at no point in his current contract will he be worth the contract.

Phil Kessel on his current contract IS trash.

Playing solid defensive hockey, getting a Selke nomination.

(I'm going to ignore the fact that you're trying to imply that Kessel will inevitably continue an upward development trajectory similar to Kesler's)

Playing defensive hockey on our third line, already making a difference in the careers of players like Burrows and Hansen for the better. And shortly after that, playing along side your golden boy Sundin, who most fans who watched the two prior to the move said Sundin needed a spark. Kesler was that spark.

After watching Kessel play for years and watching Raymond and now Tanev play ...

Well, let's just say the Leafs can keep Kessel. Great player but just not worth the money. This kind of deal you might consider if you have A) cap space or B) the luxury of trading away good young D-men like Tanev. Canucks have neither of these luxuries however even if they did I'm not sure they would target Kessel.
