Will LA do anything or not?!

Big Kings fan, fan of DL, not so much of TM and his constant line changing BS. The last 2 years have been promising but we never seem to put the last couple pieces on the puzzle. Like our team, like that DL refuses to sacrifice the future, but at some point the future becomes the present.

Glaring hole a 1st line LW. Other spots would be our entire 4th line, along with a 6th defenceman.

Martinez as 6th or 7th D is fine as long as we have someone other then Harrold or Drewiskie to interchange.
Poni, Lewis, Westie, Richie dont cut it for me on the 4th. Ideally I see Sturm coming back and filling 3rd line LW if we can find a 1st line LW. That moves Clifford down. Maybe Richie or Lewis or even Poni can stay, but need a leader on that line, even if its just a rental. Reasoner? Steckel? Talbot? Or a player of similar ilk.

Jammed with D prospects. We have the ability to let them develop, no matter how long it takes. Hickey, Teubert, Voynov, Campbell, Forbort all in this group, but maybe one of the first 3 can be moved in a package.

What can we do? What players fit our needs that may be obtainable? Thoughts? Speculate away.

The trade deadline is still six days away. Calm down. Breathe. People act like the trade deadline is tonight at midnight.

Lombardi will wait wait wait, then shop on the cheap. Jason Arnott will be a King in a few days.

I would rather he do nothing at all than do something stupid.

Will a deadline deal REALLY help us be a contender? Frankly, more BAD moves are made during the deadline than good ones.

There are only three "untouchables" in Ottawa. You've named two of them. These guys aren't for sale.

Totally. I mean I certainly wouldn't mind if Spezza went to another conference, but if Murray trades him, he deserves to get *****-slapped. I'm not even an Ottawa fan and I think I would do it just because.

We can hear from fans of other teams who want to trade their players for Kings prospect that we are one player away from to be contender. This is not true at all.
We need to continue to develop our frontline prospects and do not sacrifice our future for unnecessary short sided trades.
We need two more years to become contender. Let’s be patient.

No. LA will stay put. There GM is too cheap to put a winning piece around them. Partly due to the fact they are in love with their prospects and are hesitant to let anyone go. I think LA will continuously be the team they are for quite sometime. Not willing to spend and no willing to give up anyone means not winning a cup anytime soon!

Kings aren't/shouldn't be in "win now" mode. If they can find a long-term solution at LW without opening up a hole elsewhere in their lineup, I'm sure Lombardi will go for it. Fact of the matter is that type of deal is unlikely to crop up at the deadline. My guess is that the Kings stand pat and address their problems in the offseason.

I think he'll be in for Penner but the price will be too rich.

I think MacArthur could be an option for LA if he doesn't re-up in Toronto.

As a Kings fan this comment scares me.

A Lambadri special. He will trade for the worst, lowest value player available.

Lombardi will not do anything, just to spite you...

Lombardi is not a panicing GM. He has the support of the owner regardless this season, has a good amount of cap space, one of the deepest prospect pools in the NHL, has one of the youngest cores in the league, and has all of his draft picks. He is not pressured whatsoever. No matter how much we, as fans, want him to act. He will stand pat and wait for his moment like it or not.

Dean's too much of a poosy to do anything. He balks at high UFA prices and is too stingy to make a trade.

But hey, he's got tons of assets!

I think that is also part of the problem in hollywood, he may not pull the trigger on a scorer for the next 5 years and he will continue to have "support" of the owners. The moment will come where a guy we need is available and I wouldn't be surprised if Dean values his prospects so much he just stands pat and doesn't make the move or pay the price to get his guy.

Booth, Penner, Hemsky could be pieces that figure to be contributing factors for some time. Its not like there are an abundance of talented wingers out there readily available to be had and any fair price.

That is of course until June, especially draft day when there will be 10 proposals before the 1st pick is even selected.

Who cares ? You're not a contender. You may have the pieces to make yourself one, but why bother? Why make a trade for the sake of making a trade.
