2 games, 2 assists, +3. He's been very solid on both sides of the ice.

Ondrej Palat (TB)

Having one hell of a playoffs so far for the Crunch (15 points in 6 games), him alongside Tyler Johnson are destroying the opposition.
He also had a very good regular season and very good stint in the NHL.
He's a really good playmaker, with very good vision and great two-way play, and lately has been starting to use more his shot, and score more goals.

Would like to see what fans from other teams think about him, his potential...

Tampa sure loves its undersized skilled players..Conacher, Marty, Johnson, Brown, Palat, Kucherov etc.

Nonetheless, he could be a decent NHL player in the future. TBL has done great job at drafting, regardless of size, some of those smaller players will make the NHL and be solid NHLers and Palat + Johnson will most likely be two of em.

Never seen him play but seems like a good player.

New quality Czech forward perhaps?

Seems like an interesting and promising prospect, leading the AHL playoffs scoring too now. How the hell he was picked only as 208th, fourth last player to be taken in the whole draft?

I suppose teams didn't find him very Palatable.

Thought I'd bump this, Palat has been absolutely sensational (11G 20A and a team leading +20 rating).
He's gone from a 208th overall pick in 2011 to making the Olympics just 30months later, pretty incredible.

I don't think he's gonna be a popular pick for the Calder but I definetly have him in my top 5 (MacKinnon, Johnson, Krug, Palat, Trouba)

"Lightning's Palat named NHL Rookie of the Month"

"NEW YORK – Tampa Bay Lightning left wing Ondrej Palat, who led all rookies in scoring with 16 points (5-11--16) in 15 games, has been named the NHL Rookie of the Month for January.

...........Named to the Czech Republic team for the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Palat leads NHL rookie forwards in plus-minus (+20) and ranks second in average ice time per game (17:14). The 22-year-old also ranks third among all rookies in assists (20) and fourth in points (11-20--31)."

A prospect no more

Surprised there's noone talking about this guy, 2nd in rookie scoring and leads all rookies in +/- with 25 (also one of the best in the entire league).

Nobody can belief how this guy is able to Force himself to the top line in his rookie season. This is most likely Stammers future left wing and he absolutly deserves it. His game is incredible complete and he caused more and more problems for defenders. And he also proved once more that he is the guy that stires the Drink in which ever line he is playing on. His Production took no beating with Marty leaving

Palat is elite, he has been the best player on the team for quite some games already, he just does it all.

IMO he is the most complete rookie in the league and probably the best, though he's 4 years older than Mackinnon, so it is normal.

Anyway, the calder is Mack's to lose, he just opened too much of a lead before the olympics.

I don't consider him a prospect anymore. He's a pro - so smart, so good. He's now one of my favorite players.

He was also passed over completely in the 09 and 10 drafts, which means he was passed over 600 times before he got picked.. Crazy.

That's crazy. I know there are some amazing never drafted players, but Palat is basically a 629th overall pick given the two drafts he was passed over in. He was prolific in his overdraft season playing alongside Couturier. I know overdraft stats are generally dismissed, but sometimes players are late bloomers. I hope he continues thriving. He has played at a point per game pace since the New Year. That is cuckoo given his draft status.

Who would of thought that in his rookie season he would be a top 6 winger. TJ is good but this kid is on another level.
