Nick Boynton (on waivers)

Admittedly, I haven't seen much of Boynton since he was with Bruins. The Blackhawks placed this guy on waivers, and I was wondering if he could help the Sabres.

He seems like he's tough and a solid defensemen. He's only paid 500K, so he could be a bargain.

He got claimed by the flyers.

Wasn't he the guy who started the "sabres are all divers" thing while he was in boston?

The Sabres just shed a slow, aging defenseman with little to offer in Rivet - if you had watched Boynton in recent years, you'd know that he'd represent no more than what Rivet was.

Makes perfect sense - I even thought they would have claimed Rivet. It seems that part of the Flyers' annual tradition is to have a few neanderthal-like, slow skating pylons that love the clutch-and-grab tactics on their roster.

Philly fans were probably wondering when the next Derian Hatcher / Mike Rathje / Chris Therien / Luke Richardson would arrive in town.
