No, I don't believe Anaheim would move Rob for a draft pick (unless it was a first?).

His trade value is higher than it was when he was moved from Calgary and the Ducks did trade 2 midlevel prospects at the time to get him.

Ducks GM Al Coates wants to dump some more salary, but Rob is not the player he wants to dump. Coates identified Rob as a core player for the team, and thus would trade him only in a move to help the Ducks, not to dump salary. So you are looking at overpayment, obviously not Parise or anything...but still your not going to get him for a third round pick either.

we don't want Kozlov and his salary in return. Friesen is not an option either.

fair enough, the ducks value him more than other teams do - every team has guys like that and its a reasonable point. i just dont think personally he is worth more than 2nd rounder - just my opinion....the ducks arent my team. i must disagree with a point hinted at here by you and trumpeted by another poster. his value hasnt "skyrocketed". i think it hasnt changed much at all. he came to a place that needed what he does and is accepted for it. for a change, he is applauded for what he does bring not criticized for all he doesnt. he has developed into a solid, not flashy two way 2nd liner who in a good year will maybe crack 20 goals. everywhere else that was a disappointment - in anaheim its needed. i dont think his perceived "value" has changed though.

Will just wait for him to become a UFA next season. Not many teams are going to offer his brother more then the $7 million, the Devils have. Lou will make a promise to sign his brother and keep Scott happy for the time being.

we'll see...maybe they will both sign as UFA's with Vancouver.

His value is definetly higher than it was when he was with Calgary. He had a great 2003 playoffs, and again was great at the World Championships a month ago. Maybe his value hasn't "skyrocketed" but it definetly has gone up.

If he is traded the Ducks will get a good return, because Al Coates has no reason to move him otherwise. Nieds isn't one of the players whos salaries Coates wants to dump, so he is not going to do any favors for New Jersey unless they are willing to overpay.

we'll see what happens...
