Sounds great but aren't the Wild playing well right now? why trade him if they think they can make the playoffs.

hotstove thinks we are in the Phillips sweepstakes, but I really don't see it.

HNIC Hot stove mentioned Philips might be a target for vancouver.

I don't see how that fits or makes any sense both depth wise since we are getting healthy or cap wise.

Makes absolutely no sense.

Have no cap space and definitely have no reason to give up significant assets for a guy who will be our #7 defenseman when healthy.

That's not what he said. He said that Friedman heard that they talked about Phillips weeks ago and those talks ended quickly.

#8. I'd much rather have Alberts in the lineup than Phillips.

I imagine when everyone got hurt, Gillis made a phone call about Phillips. When it became clear that Hamhuis and Ballard weren't going to be out that long, there's no space or need for someone like Phillips. He was likely just doing his due diligence in case Hamhuis or Ballard were going to be out long term.

if Phillips really was targeted by us, maybe Bieksa's injury is longer than anticipated?

Makes sense if Minnesota wants to collect a few picks.

Madden has 3 cups and (iirc) his cap hit is around 1.2m.

So, what do you know about this? It seems to me that not only were the charges against the players stayed, the girl was charged with mischief. Eventually, the girl was let off, and charges were never pursued against the players - what does that tell you?

The fact is; what those three 17/18YO kids did is something that plays out 50, maybe a hundred times or more on an average saturday night in the world of canadian junior hockey. Nothing more, nothing less

Are you saying that up to 100 girls are getting three orifices penetrated by Canadian Junior Hockey players tonight? That's a lot of Post 95.

Am I also to believe you think other athletes just have this 'happen' to them as well? (Bryant, Roethlisberger, etc.)

This attitude is so gross. The judge in that case said the girl felt that she did not consent and there was way more of a 'boys will be boys' attitude in the judicial system back then in terms of pursuing charges. I would beyond hope this sort of crap is not happening on an average Saturday night in the world of Canadian junior hockey.

The Phillips thing came out of nowhere on HNIC though they did seem to think Gillis was close to making a move of some sort.

I'm sure Gillis would have to get Phillips consent before he could make a move on him.

Thanks

I don't think MIN is looking for picks so I think it'd take Shirokov to get them to bite. They have lots of bottom 6 types but not a lot of top 6 prospects or players.

I think we could do Shirokov for Madden + low pick? Or am I overrating Shirokov here?

Well, the Canucks did have 4 (?) scouts in that Thurs. Min-LA game.

No, I think Roethlisberger did what they say he did. I think Tyson was guilty too. However, you can't simply say "the man is a monster, the woman is the victim". You have to look at each case individually.

As I said before; The police interviewed the girl and not only dropped the charges, but laid charges against her. That is very telling.

Yes it is. Go to a junior game and check out the 16-19 YO girls in the crowd and out behind the rink at the end of a game. Go check out the hotels, the clubs, the parties etc. It is out of control.

There are 60 teams in the CHL, at least that many at Jr.A level and even junior B level it happens. Not to mention college hockey.

It's not my fault - so don't blame me for informing you. I just know it is a common occurance, too common.
