Finally the Ducks have dealt McElhinney. He has to be the worst goaltender in the NHL. Thank God! The Ducks pick up a solid guy who can actually play and give Hiller some nights off. Ellis>McElhinney. I like it for the Ducks.

Ellis is brutal with a capital B. Ask the Tampa fans what they thought of their tandem of Smith and Ellis before getting Roloson.

The key player in my opinion for the Ducks in this whole round about is Emery. If he has anything left he might help them out.

Stevie Y; GENIUS!
Not saying Stevie isn't a good GM or otherwise, but I seriously doubt this move was initiated by him. It's more of a 'luck' type move, based on Anaheim's misfortunes since Hiller went down. Good for Tampa, but hardly a genius move by Stevie Y when it came knocking at his door.

I hope Ellis tweets about how hard it is to file taxes when you get return slips from two different teams.

Both backups clearly need a change of scenery and have worn out their welcome with their respective teams.

I refuse to believe that there is any way in hell that Ellis is worse than Mc****up. He has given up 19 goals in his last 10 periods of hockey. For those non-mathematicians out there that is nearly 2 goals PER PERIOD and has (almost) single handedly cost the Ducks 2 of the last 4 games...

As a fan of a team that is currently in 4th place... or 8th place I'm happy. If Ellis continues to play like he did with Tampa then Anaheim will be out of the race soon.

Good deal for Ducks as Ellis is quality #2

Great deal for Lightning as they gain cap room for next season

First McElhinney gets traded for Toskala and then he gets traded for Ellis. If only Andre Racicot was still playing...

Has Ellis really dropped this much? And to think I wanted him to be the Flyers' starter this year.

We'll be completely re-doing our goalies in the offseason. Though a Roli-Desjardins tandem wouldn't upset me one bit.

I guess the idea for both teams was getting rid of unwanted goalies, yet...they...in return got....unwanted goalies...lolsss

Not only that, but there's income tax in California! That poor man has more problems than an ordinary guy like me could understand.

I like it. Ellis had another year on his contract, so we're shedding a million now plus 1.5 next year and/or a contract year.

McFailure goes to Norfolk and disappears, he and Smith come off the books this year, we go into the offseason with no goaltenders under contract (!) but have more money to play with.

Ellis gets a chance to rebound with a more defensively stable team in Anaheim.

That is what an accountant is for Ellis doesn't have to worry about his taxes. This trade was exactly what it was one bad goalie for a really bad goalie.

He'll actually do a lot better in ANA, i'm sure. They were forcing him into a very, very athletic role and thats just not his style.

Not to mention we generate a lot of traffic in front of our goaltender as a product of our system, so we're kind of ****ing people up.

You guys will like Ellis. He won't blow you away, but he'll be stable.
