Tanev and Rome do not play well together period. Great last 15 minutes. The canucks initiated contact on the Blues and they couldn't give up the puck quick enough. Oreskovich might be showing that we do not need a fourth line winger. Torres looks like one of our fastest forwards. In the shift after the Glass fight he knocked 3 different Blues down to the ice. He dominates some shifts. Not the smartest or most consistent player but when he is hitting like that scoring is a bonus. Raymond also had a good period i have noticed him throwing checks the last two games, he is definately working hard.

Like that recent Torres goal?

Tanev hit his rookie wall or people really underestimate Keith Ballard. I mean, REALLY underestimate him.

Also, will the Province write an equally absurd article about the fourth line and praise them this time?

Much better start than against the Habs still think the Jerseys is part of it firedrill for the Blues in the 1st.

Kudos to Glass for the bout with Crombeen man, that was quite the battle

Hansen with a 90 second PK shift on the blues first PP guy has lungs

Hodgson looks good the skill level and hockey IQ is clearly there, strength and quickness not quite. In all probability, he will be a very good player perhaps not dominating but no worse than a 2nd liner. Just too smart and too skilled.

Oreskovich and Glass looking real good Oreskovich's best period since being called up. Actually, best period for the 4th in a long time.

a few turnovers by our D (and caused by aggressive Blues forecheck) but overall a very strong period Ehrhoff and Hamhuis pairing could be a precursor to Edler Salo pairing in the playoffs (own speculation).

Tanev with a couple of turnovers early but a couple of good plays as well

What a blast by Sami

Samuelsson continues to be clutch for us

Raymond with a strong start, skating miles

Schneider continues to excel massive upgrade over LaBarbera, Sanford or Raycroft.

3rd line getting involved too.

Lets hope they don't let up in the 2nd.

Tanev has been brutal for a few games now, plus paired with Rome there is no one to cover up his mistakes. Who else can they dress though?

'Nucks just have to wait it out.

He's struggling to put the puck in the net. It isn't a secret. But it's honestly not that odd of a streak for a young player. At some point things will click again and he'll pot a bunch. He likely is of the 20 G a year mold and not a 35 goal a year.

I wouldn't say brutal. He's made some rookie mistakes playing some bigger minutes than he probably should be. Development isn't just a smooth uphill trajectory. There are peaks and valleys in play.

But you're right that when he is playing with Rome he doesn't get the same help. Really it exposes both the weaknesses of Tanev and Rome.

Raymond is doing a better job getting the puck to the net tonight.
