Steve Bernier on waivers

What happened to this guy?

I guess playing for the Panthers didn't help, but wow.

Wow. Maybe he'll pull a Briere and take the slap in the face as a sign to work harder. Dude has ridiculous skill.

Got to be a better top9 forward option than mitchell still. With no cost to the sharks I don't see the risk in taking a chance.

I dunno how waiver contracts work but he makes 2 mill, not league minimum. If they would have to pay a quarter of that or whatever, he's definitely not worth the chance.

They'd have to pay out the rest of his contract (which ends this season).

IMHO, Bernier is not worth it. If he was league min, maybe it's worth a look, but otherwise, no. He'll clear waivers and end up in the AHL (or refuse to report), that's my guess.

Fire Wilson. I can't believe he dealt this guy. Or Rivet. Damn our GM is awful!

Wow, that's a trip. Guy could've been one of the few true powerforwards in the league, potting 30 goals a year.

Can't believe how high I was on him and Michalek. Milan had injury troubles, but Big Bear is just lazy. What a shame.

Makes you cry thinking about how we took the most loaded draft in NHL history, were spotted TWO first round picks, and then proceeded to land Michalek and Bernier. Parise? Kesler? Weber? Suter? Perry? Richards? Seabrook?

NO WE SHALL TAKE MICHALEK AND BERNIER!!!

You're absolutely right.

This team's inconsistency with predicting the future in its entirety is beyond a joke. Fire them all.

It's frustrating that a main part of the forward corps for the Ducks was drafted after we took Michalek and Bernier. Scouting department not so good.

That is the funny thing about drafts. Every first round there are a few gems and a few busts. Most turn out to be like Michalek solid NHL players.

Those picks could have been:

Fehr, Pouliot, Stewart, Boyle, or Tambellni.

Picking up Pavelski in the 7th round make me feel a lot better about that draft. What else is sick think of what the Pens would be like if they had gone with Staal inside of Fleury

If bernier and michalek lived up to their potential would you all still complain about not drafting some of those other guys?

Is the scouting department from that draft (outside of DW of course) still in tact? You'd think they would've gotten canned by now based on first round picks alone.

It is the same staff. They're also the geniuses who claimed Kopitar was overrated and that's why they traded up to take Seto over him

How would you propose that we predict the future a bit better, Mystic Meg? I'd love to know if you do lottery numbers too?

At least DW knew when to cut bait with these guys. This team would still be loaded with some of these guys if left to the voting block on this board.
