The Pens have acquired Alex Kovalev from the Ottawa Senators (1:15 PM).

Pens' lines (11:26 AM).
Dustin Jeffrey confirmed that he will be back in the lineup tonight for the Pens against Carolina.
The Pens are using Kovalev at the right point on the top power play unit, alongside Kris Letang. Up front were Jordan Staal, James Neal and Tyler Kennedy.
Pens coach Dan Bylsma had no update on Orpik at this time. Orpik will not be with the team during its weekend road trip to Carolina and Toronto.
Paul Martin said that he is hoping to play this Saturday in Toronto, but if not he anticipates playing next Wednesday in Toronto.
Mark Letestu is also hoping to return during the weekend trip to Carolina (Friday) and Toronto (Saturday).
"I would like to think it would be this weekend," he said. "I guess it’s just what my leg tells me. I think I’m clear to go as far as that. We tried some contact today so we will see how it feels tomorrow and go from there. It’s my call. The doctor said as far as the strength part and structurally everything is good there. But right now it’s whether I feel good enough to go."
The Pens are on the ice at RBC Center for their Friday morning skate. Martin and Letestu are out, but not doing line work. Dustin Jeffrey is working in lines and is expected to return to the lineup this evening against Carolina.
Kovalev was paired with Neal and Staal. Here were line combos:
The Pens are on the ice for practice. Brooks Orpik, who was injured in Wednesday's game against San Jose, is not skating. However, Paul Martin is with his teammates. Martin has missed the last two games with an upper-body injury.

"I'm definitely pretty excited because I've been there before and had some good years," Kovalev said. "It's too bad that I couldn't prove myself as a good player in Ottawa, but I still had a great time here being surrounded by a good organization and a great group of guys on the team. I just feel bad that, like I said, we couldn't do a better job. But at the same time, I'm excited to go to Pittsburgh and play in the playoffs again."
Alex Kovalev found out on Thursday – his 38th birthday – that the Ottawa Senators had traded him to the Pittsburgh Penguins, where he had played from 1998-2003.
“It was the best birthday present I could ask for,” he said.
Kovalev still has a lot of friends in Pittsburgh he keeps in touch with, who all texted and emailed him Thursday when they heard the news.
They’re ecstatic to have Kovalev back in the Steel City – and he’s excited about returning.
“In Pittsburgh I was able to really show my talent and help the team, and I had a lot of fun,” he said. “It’s always been a great organization and the people have always been great to me.”
This is why doing lineups for the Pens is a nightmare.
A forward could be coming back also?
Yeah... right now it is a mess with trying to predict the lineup. I'd have to imagine that Kovalev will be in the lineup though since he was traded today, and has enough time to link up with the team before the game tomorrow.
