I was wondering when Marcotte would go. He provides very little offense at this level, but I thought his stock would skyrocket after it was found out last draft that he could play any forward position.

Huh? Wasn't that always known? It's right in his LOH bio, and I quoted that when I drafted him two drafts back...

Why do you say zero offense? Looking at the defensive forward taken prior to him and the one still available, he compares well to them. Not that I disagree that his offense his not his main quality, but I think he could chips some points from time to time.

And Marcotte always was selected in the late 200's, early 300's since I join the ATD. Marcotte plummeted at 405 last draft for unknown reason, at least to me.

He was always listed as a left wing on the draft thread, and hockey reference lists him as such.

Maybe it was always known, but not widely publicized? I don't know. He really should be listed as "F" in the draft thread.

Edit: It was news to me last time, for some reason.

I edited my post to say "very little" offense instead of "zero" after seeing he did have the one significant offensive season of over 60 points.

Marcotte was 2nd on my list when I picked Don Marshall last time, but I thought there was a significant offensive gap between them in terms of how much they can "chip in" from time to time.

And you are correct, quite a few of the defensive forwards taken in front of him provide very little offense, as well.

- Upgrade your 'very little' to 'little' and I will be content with it, at least, from what I roughly know of him. I still have to do a biography on him, which might tilt favorably or non-favorably all aspect of his game

- I'm still uncertain if Marshall was better than Marcotte defensively of vice-versa. They definitely are in the same 'tier' though. The difference is probably minimal, either side you want to tilt the balance. However, I agree with you that Marshall is a superior offensive player, in the mold of Ken Mosdell, whom was able to flourish offensively when given a chance.

- That's what I thought!

---

Don Marcotte not only bring elite defensive and PK abilities, but also bring a physical aspect to the game that not all elite defensive players possess. Considering that he will face elite right winger, let's take a random example, ... Maurice Richard, I wanted someone who could at least rival with those physical kind of physical, elite scorer (as much as someone can rival with 'The Rocket'). From my team perspective, I think he was definitely the winger I wanted to get, although via PM Dreakmur made perhaps a controversial, but somewhat interesting suggestion to me. I will try to remember bringing this up whenever this player gets taken.

Controversial, but I thought very fitting and truthfully intelligent. I'll try to remember bringing the subject when this 'undrafted' gets selected.

EDIT: On this, good night!

Only if everyone thinks that the people who think you're crazy are also crazy, whilst being crazy themselves. It's absolutely, positively, crazy!

Name lines are always a gas. I was seriously considering going with an all-Frank (Foyston, Boucher and Fredrickson) first unit powerplay line before Dany Heatley fell into my clutches at pick #301. My Franks would crush your Dons, in a non-sexual way.

If it weren't for you, I could have had the real "S" (Babe Siebert-Nels Stewart-Hooley Smith) line (not that I'd play them together...maybe on the PP though)

what about a mustache line? If I could draft a mustache center I could rock a Clark-Mustache Center-McDonald line.

that would be huge for the confidance of my team ,a man with a mustache is a man with confidance.

Jokerit selects C Doug Jarvis.

possibly the best faceoff man in history, and a great defensive F.

Not even the best face-off man during his career, but he's probably in the top dozen in the draft.

This is who I flipped a coin with Pete Mahovlich....
