Btw I wouldn't at all be surprised if Burke trades Mac.

Like I said in the recent salary cap thread where I posted my 2011-2012 cap/roster suggestion, I suspect Burke has other Top 6 forwards in mind other/better than Mac if he can acquire them with assets at hand.

Burke's not going to lose his mind just because Mac's had a very good if not great season so far.

Pittsburgh would never trade crosby

Columbus would never trade nash

Washington would never trade Ovechkin

And Tampa would never trade Stamkos

You don't let those players go.

Yeah I saw the Dreger segment myself afterwords. It depends on what team offers that kind of package if any do.

I know Phoenix has been heavily scouting leafs, and had 2 scouts or even the ass. gm at the last game.

Re: Phoenix, keep in mind how well Stempniak worked out for them (at least initially). Maybe that gives them some additional incentive to trade for Mac.

Depends on the team. If it was from a team like Vancouver or Detroit, it's not worth it at all.

Mac is still young and seems to like playing here, we need to retain these type of guys.

I didn't say anything about Crosby, Nash or Ovechkin. But there are cash strapped teams that have expensive players. I dont think Statsny is available but Tampa could be ****ed and New Jersey could possibly be.

Atlanta proved this year that you could almost make the playoffs with cheaper players and Phoenix did it last year. I think the package of 3 firsts and Kadri could be enticing to some teams that need to save some money.

I really like MacArthur, and he's really young, I wouldn't trade him for a 1st and 2nd if they're likely to be in the 25 and 55 range. BUT if we're fully committing to a rebuild through the draft, and we can get a 1st and 2nd from a more borderline playoff team (someone like Carolina, Dallas, etc.), then I'd be all for it, that would be a real nice return, and I want us to do a slow, patient rebuild regardless.

Still having 3 1st round pick in this upcoming draft would honeslty put burke in my high graces and completely turn this franshise around in about 1-3 years will all those young players growing and developing, including Colbrone and Kadri as well as Blacker and Gardiner

If its another team locked to go far in the playoffs just looking to add depth, I'd rather keep him. If the pick is between 13-17 range, I'd take it and run. Trade 2 of the 3 picks for a top 10 pick and draft a good player. It'd be a steal if we got 1st and 2nd for Mac.

But then again if he continues his play next year it could come back to bite us in the ass.

The ONLY way I would accept something revolving around this is if it's involved in getting a center.

You should become a Panthers fan or Islanders fan, if you care so much about that.

If you can get a 1st and a 2nd for Mac you take it and run. I give him credit for stepping up this year and taking advantage of the opportunity that was presented to him and if he can turn that into a Jeff Finger like contract (14 over 4) then good for him, but I dont want to be the team paying him that.

3 1st and 2nds to take to the draft table, or parlay into someone like Richards or Parise is far more desirable to me than having Mac on our 2nd line.

Yeh, why have a productive, young player who actually likes playing here when we can have a draft pick. How about we trade everyone.. I mean, can you imagine how many draft picks we could get????!!!!! Only on HFboards

It would be a tough deal but I would accept a 1st and a 2nd for Macarthur.

These picks will be assets that can be used to help us to land a Top Line Centre if one becomes available now or at the draft.

We do have good prospect depth that can come in and take Mac`s spot. I still feel that Kadri would be a great LW addition with Grabo and Kulemin. He`s a creative passer like Mac and the russians can do the 2-way work on that line to keep them defensively responsible.

Dreger isn't Eklund. He's always bang on. Burke needs to accept this. Free wallet turned into a 1st and 2nd. Almost makes up for the Kessel ******.

It would depend but it pretty much would be the nail in our playoff coffin to trade this warrior.

However, if you think Kadri and maybe Caputi project as second line wingers.... does Clarke have a spot in the future... I'd keep him because he is part of the solution but if he is asking for $3M per year then I take a deal.
