i was just on rotoworld.com and i came along this.
The Philadelphia Flyers have reportedly talked with Colorado about acquiring veteran defenseman Adam Foote.
Foote has been sidelined since Feb. 7 with a quadriceps injury, but he did participate in practice for the first time on Thursday and appears to be nearing a return to the lineup. He is scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent this summer and with the Avalanche well out of the playoff picture he could be on the move. Stay tuned.
I don't know if Philadelphia wants him. To put it in Flyer's terms, he has the foot speed of Mike Rathje. He's a mean guy in front of the net, although nowhere near what late 90's Foote (as could be expected.) Philadelphia can certainly have him, although I imagine he'd want to retire as an Av.
Long-shot prospect or a late round pick, I don't anticipate he'd fetch nearly the return we had to pay to get him from Columbus (1st round pick-- Sbisa, almost Duchene.)
i could see him waiving it. i mean the avs are pretty much out of playoff contention. I don't know why he wouldn't want to go too a team that has a good chance at winning the cup
Probably because he wants to retire with the team he spent most of his career with and had his best years with. Besides, Foote isn't really the guy to put the Flyers over the top unless they feel that they are really lacking leadership and a veteran presence
