Consider this...

The perfect storm occurs. Gaborik comes back just in time for us and plays awesome. Lundqvist is playing better than Thomas at the beginning of the season, all our lines are clicking. Assuming we make the playoffs, how far can we go?

If those things happened we could win the cup....more likely a second round exit do to a lack of secondary scoring

Make the playoffs first, don't trade the core or prospects, we could probably make it to the second round... fingers crossed!

We can beat any team in the conference except Philly...maybe Boston now too. I'm definitely not afraid of Tampa in the playoffs, so I'm just hoping to match up against them.

Ye of little faith! If all the pieces as described above fall into place, anything can happen. I'd hope someone would take Philadelphia out because that's one team we don't seem to match up well against but beyond that, I think we can beat anyone in the east. The two best teams I have seen this year are Detroit and Vancouver. Admittedly, either of those would be very tough.

I just hope for a great playoff run (at least two rounds) to give this young core a taste of winning and set the Rangers up for a great offseason and a real chance to win the whole thing next year and beyond. (And if you add a front line center to this mix -- i.e. you know who from Dallas or what's his name from Denver without giving up a key core piece next year becomes very possible)

Even if the odds are 1/100, any team can win a cup if they make the playoffs.

The Rangers will win the Stanley Cup, damnit!

I think at the absolute worst, the Rangers will make it out of the first round, but get eliminated in the second. I'm an optimist, and I believe anything can happen as long as they're in.
