The offense showed up too late and Auld should've had two of those goals.

I hate to admit it, but Kessel made us look like rag dolls at there.

How do you blame Auld on the 1st and 2nd goals? Both screened and top corner. C'mon son.

Kid. The first goal was unstoppable. Insane shot, the 3rd I thought he could've made that save. True he was screened, but he was too deep in his net and if he was out about 2 feet more the puck would've hit his blocker.

I'm not saying Auld is a bad backup, but (I even think we should resign him) in playoff time I think you need your goalers (both starter and bu) to make those big saves.

Auld played like crap but you can't blame him. Montreal tied it up only to take another penalty. And the PK has been in SERIOUS trouble since Gorges went down.

Last Straw For AULD/Martin

As far as I`m concerned, Martin deciding to go with Alex Auld last night was THE LAST STRAW ! The Auld experiment should be OVER as well as the Martin Experiment !....On many nights I have given him(Martin) the benefit of a doubt, that he had a reason for making what I viewed as questionable decisions. But to not go with the hot hand in Carey Price(who is not tired ) against one of our most HATED rivals should cost him his job because it`s obvious to us that Auld cannot handle the pressure of playing here and he should be moving on as well.
I for one, would rather miss the playoffs all together than to lose to the Leafs. Lets face it, it doesn`t look like we`re going to make it the playoffs and are JUST hanging on by a point or two. With Price in nets we could have put one more nail in there coffin. But due to many "HOOKING" calls..lol....We tired easily and had no gas left by the 3rd but gave it one h### of an effort.
This should be the last straw for Martin and Auld IMO......What do thers think ?

Thanks for coming out. Feel better after your rant?

For the record, I'd rather lose to Toronto every time we play and make the playoffs and watch them play golf in May.

hanging on by a point or 2? We have a 9 point cushion on 9th place. That's a little more than a point or two.

I guess we can say that for this year the Blues are winning on this trade and Price being better than Halak does not change that fact.

This team has a pretty good list of young players: Pacciorrety, PK, Desharnais, Weber...
MaxPac had a total of 86 games (roughly a season) and the other three combined had 16 NHL games.
Not to mention O'Byrne, Lapierre and SK (yes he was an xxx but 16G-18A) are no longer there and we got nothing to replace them.

All in all, I am pretty happy with the results given the situation.
And yes, we can be upset about Toronto but this is NHL parity.
I prefer to see that we did well against Vancouver (Thanks Carey and Roberto!) despite 4 consecutive penalties in second period.

PS Pouliot ain't bad either if we are talking about youth.

So if you want to focus on the last two minutes against the Leafs, go ahead.

On the positive side, Habs came back (again since December) from a 3-1 loss and were in position to tie the game.
We did score 4 goals!

Interesting to see that Scheen, Phaneuf, Gunarsson and Aulie were on the ice after Paccioretty goal to finish.
Also to see PK and Weber finishing the game (grand total of 10 NHL games before ths season).
take this optimism out of here!

the refs were, let's face it, bad. ****** calls on the habs followed by them calling every tiny little thing on the leafs to compensate. bah, whaddaya gonna do, welcome to the nhl.

bad last 2 minutes, but good 58 minutes before that

game long, our defense was atrocious though, seriously bad... 3 of those goals should never have happened "let's leave kessel alone in the slot"
