Centers are expected to get more points than wingers because more assists are awarded in the NHL and a center has 2 wingers to get assists from. And yes a 30+ goal winger is a first line winger.

At age 21 Phil had a better season offensively than Weiss ever has. Phil has avg. 57.5 points and 33 goals in 70 games the past two seasons. He's a first line winger.

He'll get himself another 30 goal, 55-60 point season this year playing with Joey Crabb.

Yes, the legion of Panthers fans that comprise HF have that effect, what with their constant ridiculous trade proposals, massive overvaluing of their propects, and in general a lack of knowledge of anything outside the Center of the Hockey Universe: Sunrise.

But it's not only the points, but all the rest Weiss does as well. Playing PK, dominating in the face-offs and hard back-checking. Kessel does neither.

I can make vague and cryptic points that have no meaning, as well.

Weiss has put up 60 points two years in a row. Those are 1st line numbers. Hell, he outscored Kessel last year, yet Kessel is some star while Weiss is some scrub? Kessel is very one-dimensional. He's notoriously inconsistent, not that great of a passer, soft, and constantly floats around in every zone he plays in. And don't give me the linemates excuse, Weiss has much worse to work with.

Weiss, on the other hand, is far from one-dimensional. He's fantastic defensively, and always puts in a good effort, more than you can say for Kessel. Also, he has 4 less points, in two less games.

Weiss played 10 games more. Kessel's PPG was higher. Kessel had a better offensive season last year.

Kessel is a terrific passer. Missed last night's game I guess?

And Weiss has worse to work with than Joey Crabb? Really?

Who's making vague points now?

You can get bottom 6 guys playing on the PK. That doesn't impess me. Kessel is far more talented. And he's much more of a top-line winger than Weiss is top-line centre.

So lets put this in prospective, Weiss 59G 16G 24A 40PTS.
Grabovski 60G 24G 20A 44PTS

And everyone on these boards calls Grabo a 3rd or 4th line center on a good team.
So that makes Weiss......

Also Grabo +8, Weiss -10 so your 2 way center thing....meh

It's not just HF, it's how badly overrated Panther players are over the years. Boumeester for years was a franchise D-man with the Panthers because no one saw him play untill he arrived in Calgary.

And Bryan Mccabe is the biggest joke in the NHL in Toronto, he goes to Florida and suddenly he's getting compliments on his fine play.

And given Leaf fans were right about Beauchemin, Versteeg and Kaberle, perhaps Leaf fans aren't overvalueing their players after all?

Jack Skille is just as bad as Joey Crabb offensively.

You keep on mentioning the game that Kessel played in yesterday...who cares? It's one ****ing game.
