-Our offense as a whole. We forechecked hard got shots through and crashed the net consistently.
-Transition game. The guys were simply flying tonight.
-Miller. Definitely didn't have his best game, but I'll take him making the saves that count when we score 4 over him getting beat on easy shots in a closer game.
-Grinders. This isn't to say our scoring lines didn't play well, but the ginders were all over the place and it showed on the score sheet. Good for them.
-Undefeated during the Reign of Terry.
-In-zone defense. Got pinned way too many times and the guys at MSG showed a few instances forwards getting caught too low. They've got to straighten that out if they want to win consistently.
-Leopold. We'll just say it wasn't his best game.
-Connolly. Not his worst game, but the guy is anti-offense, despite his skill set. Vanek and Pommerz looked a lot more effective when McCormick was in between them during a few overlapping shifts.
-Powerplay. I have no idea why they stopped setting up in the corners and below the goal-line on the sides of the net. We were so much more effective when we did that during our winning streak.
-The Senators. I can't even hate them anymore. Where's the fun in that?
-The Kaleta thing. I'll take that it wasn't a goal, but interference call was lame.
-Carkner. For no real reason.
Barely beating a horrible Senators team that has traded away half its squad and iced a bunch of AHL scrubs. People in Ottawa shouldn't have to pay to watch those guys. They are bad with Spezza the only threat.
The awesome:Ruff recognizing Vanek as a true star and giving him the A, giving him 20 or so seconds on the PK and putting him out there with a one goal lead.Give this man 19+ minutes and PP/PK time he deserves it.He really is an underrated two way player.
I thought Butler and Gerbe had great games. Butler had a bit of the yips the last couple of games with the puck, but tonight he was sure handed, and his positional play and instinct to jump into the offensive zone was phenomenal.
Spezza being the only threat on the ottawa team huh? Well then let's trade a 4th round draft pick for that "scrub" nick Foligno.
Spezza is the only true offensive threat on that team at this point IMO (at forward that is). I like Foligno but is this the same Foligno who's career high is 32 points that you're claiming to be a threat?
