Besides that abortion on Long Island, the Kings have had a hell of a run in the past 15 games.
Maybe its because I haven't been watching NHL On The Fly lately, but no one seems to have noticed.
For that matter, no one seems to have noticed Vancouver, either...they only lead the league in points.
The NHL's love affair with the Capitals and Penguins, at some point, needs to end. Personally, I don't care all that much...the longer the Kings can stay under the radar, the better it is for their SC chances (IMO).
But over the past three seasons now, it's really gotten embarrassing. Somebody at MSNBC.com's editing board really is a big-time Penguins fan...you would think they were the only team in the league two years ago.
The Caps fans have bought into it so much that they were actually booing their team big time lately. Memo to Caps fans: the team is good...they just aren't going to win the Cup this year.
EDIT: Just as I write this, MSNBC.com actually has a Kings story on their front page...the win today. But that is the exception rather than the rule.
8th best record in the league. We still could miss the playoffs and need to play great down the stretch, but we have come a long way. We were only 2 games over 500 a few weeks ago and looked to be dead.
LoL, when I first saw this thread, I thought the title was a date
NHL on the Fly has talked aboutthe Kings a lot and have given many praises over the run, the problem is many other teams are streaking too, the Kings' record isn't that impressive when you look around the league.
"It has not been a good day. I lost my glasses early this morning and I had to go buy a pair of 79 dollar reading glasses today. 79 bucks. You can literally get them at Costco, three-for-20." - Darryl Sutter's response to going up 2-0 in the series.
