be that as it may, it's being done to reduce the amount of *****ing the mods (especially h10h) has to hear on a daily basis about what is legit and what isn't.
I hate when people complain that we don't make moves at deadline etc. They act as though T-deadline is some form of entertainment. I know it's advertised as such, but it's not, it's a chance to try and improve your team. The key word is try. It takes two teams to make a trade and sometimes it's not worth it.
In the last week we've acquired Mara and Sopel. We also got Wisniewski which was a great trade and probably would have been more expensive nearer to the deadline, especially when you look at what some other guys have gone for.

I agree. I've been pushing for Booth for a good month now. I think Booth is the Kings' plan if they can't acquire Hemsky.
Booth would really fit the system with his speed and hardwork. His size and board work is a bonus, but a needed one.
I'd much prefer getting players that fit Martin's style than just getting anyone ala Penner because they just won't get along with Martin imo and it becomes a useless trade.

I think it's a bit concerning that we'd be narrowing our possible trade targets just because they won't get along with Martin. Not saying you're wrong or anything, but just food for thought.
Booth would definitely fill that void, and on top of it all, he has that killer instinct much like Cammy has when he's on.

You'd go for booth given his injury history? How much would you be willing to give?
I'd probably be willing to give up our 1st along with a good prospect. Not sure how much it would take to get him though, maybe I'm selling him short.
Not sure I'd give up that much for a guy that suffered such a big injury last year and doesn't seem like his oldself anymore.
31pts only this year, that isn't much. I'd be willing to bet he'll be back stronger next year, I actually don't doubt it, but I wouldn't give up a 1st + good prospect for him.
If this thread is going to be useful maybe all the rumors should be posted in the original post so we dont have to wade through a mass of responses? As long as you just post the gist of the rumor and a link the OP wont get too cluttered.

Yup I'd be willing to take a chance despite his injury history, he's a really good hockey player who's talents are not being exploited in the slightest in Florida. I really do think he can be a 70 point hockey player consistently. He has blazing speed and is such a work horse. He's actually pretty good in all three zones.
As for how much I'd be willing to give, that's the tough part as I know he'll be expensive.
I just really want Booth, he'd be a fan favorite here that's for sure. His board work is great.

Not at all. Every team in the league must take coach-fit, team-fit, chemistry-fit, culture-fit into consideration when making a trade. To make this something exceptional in the case of Martin is disingenuous.

I think he did.
He did say that he was "confident" that it would get done, so I'm sure he's talking to someone within the organization. So we'll see but for right now, no trade from Florida (per Dreger)
