You guys think PG could turn **** into gold? Most of our players have little trade value, and the only ones that do are our prospects or untradeables like Price/Subban. Even some of our prospects aren't regarded that highly.

It doesn't make sense, why would we trade away what little talent we have in the farm for guys here for 1-2 years when obviously it's not going to be easy to go far without Markov/Gorges in the lineup this year..So we can be screwed for many years so just so we can say we made a big trade at the deadline? Makes sense ...

Typical deadline day for the Habs.. On to the stretch drive to the playoffs with our powerhouse team..

Where's the deal the Habs had a very good chance of making Sevil?

If your not just talking about today, you have to include the Wiz, Mara, and Sopel pickups...

I fricking knew this would happen. There is no way we make it out of the first round now. Our forwards are simply too small. If you weren't going to make a splash at the deadline, we should have just been sellers, knowing that what we lack is going to crater us in the playoffs anyhow.

At least picking up up Kovalev would not have HURT us, and you never know, he might just win a couple games for you.

Well, this was an up and down season.

I'm hoping eventually we'll have a GM who knows how to build a real team. I was hoping we'd sell off some dead weight and start a proper rebuild, stock the cupboards with prospects that have talent and size..

sad as it is, with the pick of both higgins and lapierre I'll cheer for the nucks in the west. I hate the canucks, but I always liked higgins and lapierre.

Always the same teams moving... always.

Top 5 teams in the East are waaaaay ahead of the rest. To bad we're 6th.

So what will PG say in his PC if he as one?

I figure something along the lines of we tried to make a deal but the price was just too high.. We like our moves for Mara and Sopel to help the D and with Cammy back it should improve our offense so I'm happy with the team as is going to the playoffs..

With all due respect hogtownhabsfan, but aside from Wisniewski, those are extremely minor pickups. Compared to what Boston and Philly did, our acquisitions are a joke.

Here's why I have no faith in management (has nothing to do with today).

When the Habs were 1st in the East a few years ago they did NOTHING...actually they hurt themselves by trading away Huet. Clearly they were a contender at that point. They did nothing.

Now, look at the Caps, Canucks, Flyers, Bruins...all of them made moves to tweak their rosters this year.

That separates the good GM's from the not so good GM's. Inability to make moves to improve your team when it counts.

So for those of you who think I'm unfair to criticize management or that I'm wanting a trade just to make a trade...you're mistaken. I pretty much gave up on management from that point.

EDIT: LMAO @ Ferraro talking about Lapierre.
