I'd MUCH rather have AK and I also want him traded. If trade for Dumont we basically get the same story with AK, except we pay more for a guy who is 33 years old. There is no REASON to make that trade. I'd rather stick with AK at that rate, and hope he reaches his potential than take a chance on JP FREAKING DUMONT.
I don't mind, AK for anything fits with AK for JP Dumont and maybe Nashville's 1st also that would be great.
Nashville doesnt have a first. Gave it to Sens for Fisher.
If anything its overpaid player for overpaid player trade (AK46 for Dumont)
Both have shown flashes of brilliance, but this year for both of them is just a bit of a disappointment.
32 is hardly old anywhere but on HFB. Plus he only has one year on his contract after this one.
There is no promise that he will regain his form. Here we are trading a young problem for an old problem. It's just NOT worth it.
In comparison to the Latendresse & Pouliot trade where we exchanged problems, atleast both were very young and still had enough time to reach their potentials.
Honestly, I even doubt that Dumont would be able to handle any of the pressure, let alone be a "star" francophone player in MTL.
He has no points in 12 games, has anyone thought maybe this is why he is scratched? You know in other cities it's not uncommon for unproducing vets to get benched for lack of production..

Why not? When he signed with Nashville he stated he really wanted to play for the Canadiens but Bob Gainey didn't even call his agent. I would think it would rejuvenate him.

The risk of Dumont continuing his poor play outweighs the possibility he'd get rejuvenated and return to form. I think there are safer bets than him out there.
