I saw a video with Walker in it, where the reporter suggested that he is currently the best option for scoring on his team, and that he will have to modify to a distributor in the NBA.

Good interview, but cut to 1:53 to hear that question.

I think his biggest knock is his size. 5'11.5" without shoes. Not ideal, but Chris Paul seems fine at that height.

I'm personally interested in him or Kanter, as a real center.

Also combine it with the fact that next season should be a great draft for SF and SG(IIRC), I just think it makes too much sense to pick Kanter. (given his head is on straight)

best case scenario he develops into a fine perenial all star. worst case scenario:darko part 2 do the positives out weight the negatives?
p.s. i kno kanter is a bit diff because he was going to play at a d-1 school before he was suspended, which means if he was going to play at Kentucky he must be good, but by not wanting a foreign player i meant te ones who play strictly in europe with little exposure such as valencucias or w/e. unproven in collge bball or nba nba>>>>euro leagues. or so i here.

HEAT take Game 1. 92-84. Lebron stepped UP! I think the Mavs can take this.

It's about time. I'm sure he is a good person and all but he is an awful coach.

Same as Wilson couldn't get the Team to play Defence, whether that's the Players he was given by the repective GM's, both teams are Perimeter teams who shy away from Contact.

Yeah he was the main scoring option on his team (Kemba) but he makes some pretty slick passes and doesn't look like he lacks any kind of play making abilities at all.

Kanter is a monster guys. I don't think he will be anything like Bargnani, except for the fact that he can score like Andrea. Probably needs to improve his defense like most International players and could get stronger, but to me he is much smarter than Andrea.

To me, he is nothing like Andrea.

Here is a scouting report I found:

At 6ft11 250+Lbs and just 20 years old by the beginning of the season Kanter has a lot of upside. He has very good mobility and footwork for his size with a good looking jumper. Sound fundamentals, he does a great job using ball fakes to get his man off balance to finish down low. A good feel for the game, he does a good job finding his teammates, probably skilled enough to run your offense through him down the road. With his length, balance and footwork he has been a good rebounder at the levels he has played at. I see him as a C with a PF game in the NBA, will be able to run the floor better than most opposing centers.
However, I cannot see Cleveland passing on him at 4.

Word last week was that the Cavs might like Valaciunas more than Kanter.

could be a smokescreen though.

No kidding? That would shock me..I have seen them both and Kanter is much better in my opinion. Granted, Vala may have the higher ceiling if he develops his skill set to its highest potential. Either way, Kanter is more of a sure thing and can step in right away as well.

I can't seem to find it right now, but it also said Toronto might like Valaciunas more than Kanter too. Of course that would be before he's had a chance to work out with Toronto, and if Cleveland takes him at 4 it opens up the possibility that Kanter is there for the Raps at 5.

who knows. Still like 3 weeks to go.

What happened to the deal with the Cavs so they were going to pick 1-2?

IIRC the new sticking point is that Detroit (who is involved in the deal as a 3rd team) believes that Richard Hamilton's contract might not be total dead weight if there's a NBA CBA movement that lets them take a year off of his contract. As a result they were looking for more in return on their side of the deal and neither Minnesota nor Cleveland were willing or able to consider that.

I don't think it means the deal is totally dead, just that it's less likely now.

EDIT: Also Ricky Rubio is apparently agreeing to play for Minnesota next year. So any hopes of prying him away from the T'wolves on the cheap because they had to deal him are pretty much dead now.

I heard that too and laughed out loud.

Seriously, it's like Toronto enjoys being a crappy draft organization.

In fairness, it's not impossible that Valaciunas ends up the better player. He's just as tall, more athletic, doesn't have the injury problems, and can play a very similar style of game. The downsides are that he may not show up for a year or two thanks to his Euroleague contract and that he's trained more as a 4 than a 5.

I'm not going to say that he's a better prospect than Kanter, but it would appear that the gap is not terribly significant.

Minny might trade Johnny Flynn to the Raptors, now that they have signed Rubio

Where could Flynn land?
2:51
PM ETJonny Flynn | Timberwolves Top EmailComments With word Ricky Rubio will play for the Timberwolves next season, there's been a large suggestion Jonny Flynn will be put on the trade block.

And according to Bill Ingram of HOOPSWORLD, Flynn could find a home in Toronto.

"The Timberwolves have had a number of conversations with teams interested in Flynn, and more recently it seems he might wind up in Toronto," he wrote. Flynn is a native of Niagara and Toronto is practically home for him. The Raptors have been looking to change up their point guard rotation and Flynn would be part of that solution."

A few other teams that could potentially be in the market for a PG?

If the Suns unload Steve Nash this summer, it's possible they could come calling for Flynn, as Ingrim also reported "there has been internal discussion about trading for Phoenix Suns All-Star guard Nash to mentor Rubio, but at this point that seems a bit far-fetched."

Should the Knicks decide to trade Chauncey Billups -- a rumored trade piece on an expiring contract next season -- they could potentially be in the mix as well.

I really hope they decide that Jose is a better mentor for Rubio, specially the whole Spanish connection.
