For TOR, this gives Burke a head start on signing a goalie he would covet as a # 1, and opens up a spot or 2 on the reserve list for 2011-12.
I would do it right away.

Reimer has been good but the chances of him becoming anywhere close to as good as Bryzgalov is unlikely, Bryz is a legit number one goalie and was a vezina candidate last season, he could possibly lift us into the post-season.

We also have Gustavsson/Rynnas/Scrivens who could be great backups.

I hope if we do move Mac, that its an absolute overpayment. Hes not too old, and preforming.

The thought of three first round picks this draft, is pretty crazy if you ask me.

That Komisarek/Reimer for Stastny/Liles/prospect "rumor" is one of the absolute most ridiculous things posted this weekend. Just horrendously bad.

in order to get Stastny, I imagine it would be something like this

Kulemin
Kadri
BOS 1st

for

Stastny
2nd

tough to see Kulemin & Kadri go, but you have to give to get, Stastny is a young 70-80 point number one center.

That Boston 1st is likely to be 6-8 picks away from Colorado's 2nd rounder. Kulemin is an average winger and Kadri is a decent prospect.

I don't see how this would lure Colorado into trading their top player.

If the Leafs want Stastny, it starts with Schenn+. Don't expect to get other teams' top assets without giving up yours.

The Stastny isn't going anywhere hasn't been confirmed yet?

Kulemin is a top six forward who might hit 30 goals this season and is a great two-way player and is a very complete forward.

Kadri is far better then decent............

He's a blue-chip prospect with top three potential, anyone who doesn't see this needs to take off their leaf hating glasses and see Kadri for what he really is

So you'd make that trade if you were an Avs fan? Really?

It was confirmed during the Hot Stove on HNIC last night.

I'm not saying I would but I was just saying Colorado would probably require at-least Kulemin + Kadri + 1st

A young top six forward, a top prospect, and a 1st

Kulemin and Kadri are top assets to our organization. Kulemin is a great all around player and probably the best all around forward on our team. He plays on the PP and PK, forechecks like a beast and is on pace for around 55 points. Kadri is our best prospect and projects to be a top 6 centre. The only reason that I don't think Colorado would do this trade is because they would be looking for a defender but to say that we aren't giving up top assets is wrong IMO.

I think we'll acquire a defenseman tomorrow but that's probably it. I'm hoping for Liles but who would some other targets be?

You forgot to mention that 1st will be marginally better than Colorado's 2nd, therefore it's basically Kulemin and Kadri for Stastny.

You can call Kulemin a young top six forward, you can call Kadri a top prospect, and we can both call Stastny a young, star centerman who was the 1st line center on Team USA's silver medal winning run.

See how we can paint different pictures?

I'll go back to my original post. Schenn+. Look at the big LA/COL rumor from a week ago. JJ/Bernier/Stoll for Stastny/Galiardi. The Avs want top defense and goaltending prospects/ready players.

Colorado and Toronto are not good trading partners right now.

Cam Barker, Chris Campoli, Joe Corvo, Thomas Hickey, or if they want to make a big deal....Bogosian.

BTW these names are just my own speculation based on some of the rumours that have been around so dont ask me for a source or link.

Of that list I'd most prefer to go for Campoli or Hickey. I think they could be had for cheap and would both fit in to the younger team model we're going for (moreso hickey for that).

Campoli has more experience but Hickey has played (well) with Schenn in the past and with his stock having dropped severely he could be worth taking a chance on.

In order to decide if you think Av's management would do this deal, you'd have to know their motivation for doing it, and at this point, we have no idea why they would do it. One line of thinking is they want to use Statsny to rebuild their defence, as they have center depth, so Kadri or Kulemin don't fit into that scenario.

As an Avs and Leafs fan, I don't really like the direction the Avs have been going. They are gutting their team, with the trades of Stewart and Shattenkirk as well as Anderson. Trading Stastny would only make things worse.

So, Schenn + Scrivens + Bos1st + Philly's 1st?
