BTW these names are just my own speculation based on some of the rumours that have been around so dont ask me for a source or link.

Of that list I'd most prefer to go for Campoli or Hickey. I think they could be had for cheap and would both fit in to the younger team model we're going for (moreso hickey for that).

Campoli has more experience but Hickey has played (well) with Schenn in the past and with his stock having dropped severely he could be worth taking a chance on.
I would add Wideman to that list of possibilities as well. FLA is willing to deal just about any 1 except of Weiss and Booth atm for picks and prospects.

Could we not speculate that the Rangers would be trading something with a salary back to Dallas?

Considering the reason they are trading Richards is because they can't afford and their owners are cheap ********... no. Unless, of course, it's a UFA.

How serious is Gaborik's concussion?

Maybe they put him on LTIR to make room for Richards this season and they sort the rest out later.

I read somewhere and I don't have the link, that two of the players offered going the other way, are Dubinsky and Del Zotto and likely they may waive Drury, or if a team wants him, a trade for 4th or 5th rounder.

Does anyone know how serious Brad Richard`s head injury is? We haven't see Crosby back this year....any team interested in Richards has to be speaking to Niewy with a tone that Richards has to be somewhat damaged goods at this time, no?

If I'm Burke I stand pat and do nothing but deals where I take back salary for shart term in exchange for prospects and picks. This is a completely different climate going into the offseason this year than it was last year. We have players improving, we have picks, we have prospects, we have promise. Dont do anything to take away pieces from this. If you want to add, add on July 1st.

They were just discussing it on Sportsnet, that Richards had been skating for a while with no problems.

I think they may be keeping him out, in case they decide to trade him, if they don't he'll likely be back after thr deadline.

Is it worth the risk to trade for a concussed player?

Depends on what the package for Richards is suppose to be, and apparetly Dallas is asking for a lot.

I hope Burke is just kicking tires and hanging in there just incase Joey N changes his mind, but its going to be quite the blow to our future assets of we do deal for Richards.

Which is something that is going to be very risky for someone that is "concussed" and a pending Free Agent this coming summer.

Burke has made quite the progress this season, I dont see him taking more steps back for a quick fix.

If what McLean is saying about Ryan Ellis being dangled is true, and the Preds want Mac.... I do it. You take the chance that this was a fluke year looking for a contract, and you run with a young puck mover with a rocket shot.

Simple as that. If you can get a guy like Ellis in the fold and add that to the prospects we already have... you do it.

I posted a response to this in the first thread.

It is for the Leafs. While teams like the Rags and LAK are looking for help to go for the SCF this year, the Leafs could be the only team willing to pay the premium, who's looking for a centre for the future.

Trading Macarthur for Ellis would certainly leave a big void up front. If Burke can somehow grab another top 6 forward to replace him I'd be all over it.

Apparently it's Dumont + Ellis for Mac?

If the Leafs get Ryan Ellis, they have arguably a top 5 prospect pool next year that, many of which, are near nhl ready.

Nashville

Just watching hockeycentral and kyper was saying Nashville is interested in McArthur and sounds like is dangling R.Ellis and Dumount.... I'd do it in a heartbeat but I though Domount wanted to go to Montreal? Hope this is true

Sportsnet says a deal around Dumont and Ellis for Macarthur as the basis of a deal that could happen if one happens between the teams.

remember though... that's ALL SPECULATION. I don't think this deal is on the table... because if it were, it wouldn't be, because Burke would've already done it

If Dumont wants to go to Montreal, why not send him to Montreal for a pick ? All we really want from this deal is Ellis.

if we actually get ellis then i'm pretty sure we aren't resigning kabby in the offseason. i'm hoping we resign him. he knows more about the leafs than anybody we have and will be a vital leader in the playoffs. but hell, if we get ellis, i'm fine with that!

Ellis is a nice prospect. Dumont has another year at 4M. I'd really consider this deal.
