The thread on the panthers board, a poster says Tallon will recall Kennedy. He would help this team. It would certainly right a wrong, and in a small way show things have changed if Buffalo puts a claim in.
I always liked Kennedy. I thought he had a decent rookie year here and had the ability to play in the NHL. I didn't like what happened to him (smelled of Quinn), and I don't know why the Rags sent him to the AHL (unless he was just so mentally not with it after the Sabres debacle so as to become less effective).
I don't see it happening, but it certainly would be an interesting move. I'd much rather have him than Niedermayer.
Well a team that just went 2-4 in a six game homestand, clearly needs something. The team was better last year with Kennedy. And Kennedy's play last year was much better then a number of current Sabres forwards.
What happens if Kennedy goes on waivers, will be one of the things by which I judge the direction of the Pegula era.

As in, if Darcy doesn't go after him you'll see it as a negative against Pegula?

Last years team wasn't better because of Kennedy - he sucked. Tim Kennedy is a horrible hockey player and doesn't deserve to be in the NHL. He's junk. His play last year was not better than a number of current Sabres forwards, well, maybe Niedermayer, but that's it. And if they want to replace Niedermayer, they'd just call up someone ten times better than Kennedy : Luke Adam.
People need to get over Tim Kennedy - it's over. They let him go last year and it was the correct move.

Aside from one down stretch around the middle of the season, Kennedy's play was significantly better than Adam's this year in the NHL. Not to knock Adam, as he's a young kid who's not physically ready for the show, but I don't see the need to tear down what Kennedy did for us last year in the bottom 6.
Hamilton's comment about Kennedy's work ethic over the summer was very interesting, though.

You can argue for not wanting Kennedy back for a number of legitimate reasons. But everything you say about him being a horrible player is absolute garbage. Kennedy had a solid rookie year. Ten goals and 26 points. He showed some spunk and grit. He had some big defensive lapses because he was tasked on many nights with playing as a shut-down center (a lot to ask a young guy), but on the whole, he was solid in his own zone (including with some PK).
Kennedy was a perfectly capable NHL player. Maybe he failed to work hard in the offseason. Maybe he wasn't worth a million bucks. Maybe Quinn was feeling vindictive. We can debate those things all we want. But he was in no way a bad player while here.

Wow...just...wow
You're gonna judge Pegula if we don't put a claim on a player we don't need simply because he's from Buffalo and you feel he got screwed last year?
They didn't want to hand him a roster spot, so they got rid of him.
