Canuck's Skills Competition - Sunday Feb 27

Videos are up on CDC. Here is the link:http://video.canucks.nhl.com/videocenter/

The twins relay was eerie in how close they are.

Fastest skater Comp:

Tambo - 14:054
Ehrhoff - 14:481
Hansen - 13:960
Tanev - 14:381
Raymond - 13:632
Glass - 14:280

Notable comparables from the All star game:
Michael Grabner, NYI 14.061
Ryan Kesler, VAN 14.786

Hardest Shot:

Rome: 91.3, 96.4
Hamhuis: 97.4, 99.2
Salo: 99.5, 101.5
Ehrhoff: 101.1, 99.3

Salo says it wasn't much of a competition without Edler.

Hamhuis/Ballard perhaps should get a shot on the shootout.

What i found more interesting... New practice jerseys with Johnny Canuck as the main logo... Not sure if it looks good, imo. A bit dark, and gets lost in the jersey. The current practice ones look better.

I wish someone would make a gif of the Sedins going head to head in the puck relay competition.

Yerp... that's about how much faster Raymond is than Grabner.

The nets were out at the Canucks skills judging by the video. Could be a factor in the quicker times. I can't personally speak on whether it's easier with our without.

The Fastest skater competition is rather silly. I liken it to most of the **** you learn in school that isn't really useful in the real world. How often do you see a guy do a full loop around the ice? well other than Phil Kessel?

Then aren't all skills competition mini-competitions pretty pointless like the relay race? How many times a year are you going to effortlessly skate past pylons?

Canucks play the Oilers six times this year.

My question is:

How long have they been using 'Johnny Canuck' practice jerseys, and where can I buy one? OP says they're new, but I read elsewhere they've been used a few times? Either way it's news to me.

Seriously, why isn't that the main logo by now? This is the first time I've seen the old-school Johnny Canuck logo (ie - the one on the helmets when the Canucks wear their stick-in-rink third jerseys during games) as a primary logo on a jersey. Is this a new development, and is it a sign of future jerseys to come? I honestly hope so.

I haven't seen them prior to this based on viewing from the practice pictures they post up on CDC. This is just a few days ago...

I think what i just don't like is how johnny basically blends into the jersey. It was too dark and no definition (i.e. dark outlines around the character). I'd like to see a mock up of a johnny more in canuck colors - more royal blue than navy. But i think the logo would look better in person than it looks on the ice. I think the stick in rink looks very good on ice still, imo.

No I kept waiting and waiting for it! They even had Hodgson come out to get the trophy for his team...and then nothing.
