i think youre over stating that a bit lol. Phaneuf is tough and strong but as captain and a #1 dman he really has to pick and choose his spots. is it worth missing him for 5 minutes because some goon like konopka chirps in his face? they want phaneuf off the ice and possibly the game , any team would trade off a scrub for phaneuf. and dion knows that. its not so cut and dry.

Kane didn't intentionally run our goalie and then our team just folded like a cheap suit. It wasn't like the Boston game against Montreal where the Habs got manhandled and lost the game through intimdation. It was a hard hockey play and sometimes contact happen.

What would Rosehill have done? Fight there 4 line plug or attack Kane and take a minor like Orr did when he jumped a player earlier in the year (can't remember who). But then the other team got a powerplay and we lost the game cause of it.

We have Phaneuf who gives his fair share of questionable open ice hits on other teams, Komisarek who has been starting to throw his weight around more lately, Schenn who hits everything in sight along the wall, Armstrong who is a hitting machine with a lot of the time his hits being borderline dirty and Brown who can play in a checking role and will drop em.

What we need is another skilled center to form a 1/2 punch with Grabo so we can get the other team back through scoring or a true power forward who will go to the dirty areas to score and get 50-60 points a year and occassionally fight like a Ryan Clowe type.
