The Playoff Seeding Thread

I want SJ but it doesn't look like it is going to happen. I tend to favor the way teams matchup during the season. There is something about getting in a team's mind and being able to exploit them during the season that speaks to potential outcomes. Given that statement playing SJ would be our best chance.

Two seed is an easier road to the WCF in my opinion. Would rather see San Jose, but that seems unlikely as you said.

I see Rangers in 6, Caps in 7, Devils in 5, Penguins in 5. For argument's sake, I'll assume the Canucks and Kings hold on. In that case, I'd say Canucks in 5, Blues in 6, Coyotes in 7, and Preds in 7. Only real upset is Caps in 7. I think Backstrom will have a major impact.

The Caps just don't seem to be good enough at defense to be much of a playoff team.

I am still holding out hole for SJ winning. This PP will be crucial.

Panthers do. I edited my post. I didn't mean to put NJ in 5.

Predictions

Western Conference
Canucks vs Kings: Kings in 7
Blues vs Sharks: Blues in 6
Coyotes vs Hawks: Coyotes in 6
Predators vs Wings: Predators in 7

Eastern Conference
Rangers vs Senators: Rangers in 5
Bruins vs Capitals: Bruins in 6
Panthers vs Devils: Devils in 6
Penguins vs Flyers: Penguins in 7

No sweeps, and the big surprise will be LA over Vancouver. I just have a feeling about LA, I think they'll surprise a lot of people.

I don't think it's likely to happen, but I would love to see Florida win a playoff series. I like a lot of the guys on their team and I think they deserve a playoff series win.

I'd also like to see the Pens knocked out in the first round because they scare me the most out of any team in the East. Also would like to see the Preds bow out in round 1 to get Suter frustrated with the organization, and because I still think they're the toughest opponent for the Blues.

A BOLD prediction (especially the way they've been playing lately). I think it will take them at least game or two to get back their former synchronisation and confidence.

I hope, however, that your prediction will come true.
