Call your trade.

For bragging rights. Call your Sens player traded, the team he's traded to and the return.

Buf: Kuba
Ott: 3rd round pick

How exactly would they manage that with their cap situation and their excess of bodies come playoff time?

Lee to Montreal for a 3rd. If not Montreal then Columbus.

Neil to Montreal for a 2nd and conditional 4th if they make it to 2nd round.

Campoli and our/Nashville's first to Canucks for Hodgson.

I was going to say this... but to be different, I'll say Campoli to Toronto for a second round pick

Campoli to Chicago for Dave Bolland

Bickell would be nice but not many teams are gonna give up a 6'4, 225 pound guy making 500k next year who could hit 45 points this year... especially Chicago.

Never mind Bickel, the Bolland deal would give them some cap space next year, improves their D for under half the cost of Wideman or Liles but still give them a guy who can play top 4. With the Hammer possibly out and Hendry out for sure, they need a D-Man even more than before.

Also, I wanted to be original.

I think Murray is going to surprise a few people by making an unexpected acquisition. Look for a 2nd line player in a trade. The rest of the players he moves will go for picks. Most of the effort will be expended on a significant acquisition to help form a new core on the club. Maybe even someone to play with Spezza.

Only guys that are even plausible would be Penner and Hemsky, every other team is gearing up for the playoffs and won't give up a top liner for prospects and picks

I'll say Howson pusses out on Liles and goes cheaper route with Campoli

I agree. This is also one of the few times in recent years that we have a bunch of cap space to actually acquire someone.

Part of the re-build will involve picking up some leadership, given the departures of Fisher, Kelly, Kovalev (not a leader but a top-end player). I still think we need some talent to mix in with the youth, as it is completely conceivable some of these players will still take time to develop.

MTL don't need anymore D but Neil... very likely

Vancouver fans won't like the value.

Yeah, we've played this game before.

Kovalev for a 2nd, Kuba for a 3rd or 4th. Yeah that worked out well for us. I predict whatever player is traded and whatever round pick you think you're going to get at 5 to that.

Shannon for 6th to Atlanta.
I'm not expecting much.
