Huge signing for us. Arguably at times our best player this year and second most skilled forward on the team. Decent price too. Good job Dean.

Injury jokes are relevant if you ignore the circumstances of his injury troubles. And the fact he's been healthy all year.

Hate that the Kings re-signed him. But it's alright. He's a former Cane. JR will trade for him.

Very good deal if he can stay healthy.

He could have made a million or two more on the open market.
You think someone would have paid him 5 million a year?

He's injury prone then why sign him to a long term very risky deal for sure.

I think he could have gotten 4.5 million from a team.

He's a highly skilled forward. He took a pay cut to stay in LA.

Hes also one of the most injury prone guys in the league. 4.5 is a stretch, unless it was a 1 or 2 year contract, then I could maybe see it happening.

Look at his pts and the pts of other potential FA's this summer...very good chance he could have as it is a very weak year.

If Lombardi couldn't get him signed by today, was he going to trade him?

This is the big splash of the day.

Great deal. He's been a key asset all season and last season when he was healthy.

Good deal for Justin and L.A.

His production is easy worth that $$, and if he continues to be injured periodically, it's not enough to be a huge liability like Gaborik.

Not sure he'd get 4.5 on the market as someone suggested.. But easily more than 3.65

When a player like Gaborik gets 5 years, you have to sign Williams for 4 years. It's a negotiation after all. The player gets some security, the team gets a top six RW for a very reasonable cap hit under $4M a season.

The culture change in LA is starting to take root. Real winners with the right attitude are starting to take less money to stay with the Kings. First Jack Johnson and now Justin Williams this season. Both signed very reasonable cap hit deals with the right number of years on the contract.

Ok, thanks for the response. I just think that, at times, Lombardi seems to plays his cards WAY too conservatively. He's great at building a team but he's gotta learn how to put one over the top. Having said that, this deadline isn't really the time to do it imo.

I think that is a great cap hit.

Glad he's a King for the next 4 seasons, hopefully injury free.

Has Justin Williams learned to keep his stick on the ice or is he still actively going for the eyes?

wow, superb deal for us!

Williams has been one of our best and most consistent forwards all season long. If he hit the open market, he would have received offers around $4.25M/year all day long.

I love the length and price of this contract!

C'mon. I wouldnt go that far.

I was worried the Kings would sign him for around $4.5.

4 years is great and the cap hit too. I'm overly impressed by him this season, sure 1st liner.
