Just looking at his stats he seems pretty decent. Good size too.

Huh. I feel like we won this one. I mean, I honestly never heard of Montgomery before now, but he seems to have just as much upside and more time to put it together.
Plus, we have pried good defenders away for nothing from Colorado before.

Tambo worked hard all week ironing out the details for this one, cut him some slack

Montgomery plays an offensive style of play, using his quick skating for mobility. Montgomery is a defensively sound player despite his offensive play. He has great hockey smarts and knows exactly when to make a crisp pass and when to use his stick handling skills to go end to end. Montgomery does not play the most physical game you’ll find but he knows his best assets are his skating and stick handling so he uses them to their fullest whether it be in the defensive zone taking the puck away from the opposition or whether it be at the point on the powerply. Montgomery gives his all every game. He plays a similar style to that of the Toronto Maple Leafs’ Tomas Kaberle.

lol this trade is so weak that it should't even be broadcasted on Tsn or Sportsnet.

"Montgomery does not play the most physical game"
The only attribute the Oilers seem to look for.

funny that you say that because Montgomery is basically Gilberts twin brother.

Hopefully he'll be an El Alamein of a player and not a Market Garden of a player.

He's more of a prospect, so there's that. I don't mind it

Tencer said it had to be done because of the AHL veteran rule, and that's about it.
