TSN.CA has added Forward prospect MacGregor Sharp going to the 'Nucks.

Ducks essentially upgraded here...traded a 5th to get LaPierre.

3rd was used to get Winchester essentially...I am pleased.

The Canucks needed a 4th line Centre - and they got one.

If Lapierre can just focus on staying out of the box, this could be a beauty depth move.

Good deal for both sides, helps Vancouver 4th line options and gives the ducks more picks to play with this summer.

Alain Vigneault coached Lapierre in the QMJHL...

There's some history there..

Ya, Vigneault is really familiar with Lapierre from the Q; he used him as a shut-down centre against Crosby all the time. Has size and speed; Perrault is a career AHLer and we don't need 3rd round picks.

I can't imagine that locker room with all the yapping. Lapierre used to defend against Crosby in the juniors. I'm not saying that's what his job is, that's malhotra's job, but AV will coach him right.

There is no more yapping on the canucks: both Kesler and Burrows have cleaned up their act this year.

Canucks acquire their Adam Burish-type.

They might be having off seasons, but both Lapierre and Higgins are guys who are likely better than certain Canuck forwards at just getting the puck up the ice and turning it into something.

Not sure why the Ducks moved Lapierre unless they felt they couldn't / wouldn't retain him as an RFA in the summer.

Him and Glass will make a good line with whoever they are paired with.

Glass Lappy (Oreskovich, Higgins, Hansen, Torres). Should be deadly.

He didn't really seem to fit for starters and recently acquired Ruutu has significantly outplayed him. LaPierre last night only played three minutes for instance.

I'm really surprised the Canucks didn't move Raymond.

I thought for sure he would have been dealt for another young forward (Setoguchi, Booth, etc).

Lappy is the ultimate troll. With Burrows playing more serious now, Lappy can take that role.

Ferraro hates him so i'm cool with it.

I like his age and his cost...
$900,000..

Reminds me of early Burrows
- first the obvious - french canadian sheat disturber
- versatile, and can play on the PK
- not many goals, but some beauties when he does... suggesting a greater ceiling to be realized.

- upswing in his development
