There's is really no chance. He'll be going the top 3.

Fans have to temper their expectations. If we managed to get into the bottom of the top 10 I think we would be extremely fortunate.

Landeskog will probably end up going to Ottawa and will give us fits for 15 years.

Unfortunately the Chances are slim
But really this guy could be a franchise player. Later down the road if we traded for Landeskog at the draft, we would not regret what we gave up to get him, as the other picks could have turned out to be nobodys

Trying to move up that high is pretty far fetched. You've gotta find a team that absolutely doesn't want to be in the top 10, and problably grossly overpay to do so. Toronto would be best served tryign to trade picks for players.

Not happening. I think it's either him or Larsson going first.

not going to get into the top 5 this year. if somebody slips to 12-18, trade up to get him, if not trade up to get the best player possible. if not, draft boone jenner and a few other guys.

It would probably be 2 trades. As you say, going up that high in 1 deal is hard.

Well that deal just wouldn't be on the table cause the other team whether it be Edmonton, Ottawa or NYI would know the risk of making that trade.

Have to think trading 2 1sts and a second you would get a player like Phil Kessel

All kidding aside I think we could do it without using all the picks. The Islanders did it with a 20 something pick plus a 3rd and a 5th or something. We have 3 6th round picks. Do something with them.

If were are trading up wasting those picks then let it be for these players

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins- Impossible
Gabriel Landeskog- Impossible
Sean Couturier- Would take a miracle
Ryan Murphy- Another miracle but more realistic

I like the looks of Jurco and Jacobs. I think I would rather have the Leafs keep their top 3 picks.

I think our prospect pool is still in the stage where adding a few solid pieces is a better idea than adding one big talent. Personally, I'd trade one of the 1sts down into the early 2nd round unless there's someone Burke likes that's available around 25-30th. The only exceptions would be to address an organizational need like taking Murphy a bit earlier for our future PMD or a big physical winger like Landeskog if he slides a bit.

I'm okay with either moving up into this year's top 10 or keeping our picks, but how much would we have to add to that package in order to get into the top 10 of the 2012 draft, if anything?

What about something along the lines of:

MacArthur
BOS 1ST
PHI 1ST
PHI 3RD

for

Landeskog

I could see the islanders doing this potentially.

What were the picks he gave up to get Pronger and the Sedins?

2011 phili 1st+ 2011 bostons 1st + 2011 leafs 2nd + 2011 phili 3rd + 2012 leafs 2nd. That should bring us in the top 10. Maybe top 5ish ?
