Maybe Gerbe had prior commitments like shooting a new Lord of the Rings movie?

He was needed for a segment on Little People, Big World.

But yeah, he should probably be in the lineup...

It's true for Carolina, but not for Philly and Minnesota.
They can't win each and every game and if you could pick a lost game against NYR, Carolina or Philly, what would you take?

I take Philly...

As important the Philly and Minnesota games are, NYR and Carolina are even more crucial.

I hope I can watch this game tonight. I'm on vacation in SoCal. Not sure if we get Versus here or if I'll be home when the game starts, but I'm excited to see Boyes.

Horrible.

I missed last game, so I may be out of the loop, but why in the hell did he break up Pommers and Vanek?
I think Niedermayer has been playing better, tho. I would still rather have Gerbe in over him or Grier.

Lindy said this morning they will rest Miller a game this trip, likely on the weekend back-to-back. He wouldn't commit to saying it's Enroth though.

It was on WGR this morning.

And tonight would not be the right choice given the opponent.

RJ has to be salivating over this, a new name to call out.

Well I'm at work for this one, so I'll have to catch the Spark Notes version in the GBU.

Boyes gets an assist.

If anyone wants proof of why Ruff is an awful coach, scratching Gerbe over Nieds is about as clear as it gets.

Good thing we're stuck with him as a coach forever.

Doesn't Ruff talk to the media? If I had press credentials I'd get down there and ask him to his face what Nediermeyer has done to be in the lineup over anybody, let alone Gerbe.

I disagree, he just is one of the laziest players I've ever watched on this team. He just floats out there. It's a shame too because there's been probably 3 or 4 games this season where he actually got his legs moving, and he actually looked like a really good player, he occasionally had good hands, but overall there is no reason for him to still be in this lineup. The only thing he does better than Gerbe is be taller.

Priceless !!!

There was a reason why Connolly is my favorite player since Mogilny, often involved in big goals in thos 2 seasons, this game he broke Alfredsson ankle, set up the 4th tying goal, scored the 5th one, got big ones as well vs Flyers and was the guy who tooked the shot on Drury's goal.

I know he is frustrating some nights, lack of efforts or injuries but he isso talented and i really hope to see the Timmy before the Shaeffer body check if we get a playoff run !!!

I don't like the move, but I can understand it, and it isn't as huge a deal as some are making it out to be. Nieds is much better defensively, gives us more size, and more versatility, too. It's not like Gerbe has been tearing it up lately, either.

Gerbe is much more prone to making a mistake that will costs us points (see: last game) and we can't afford to piss away points tonight. Gerbe's offense lately hasn't been enough to compensate for his own end lapses. Neidermayer has played fairly well in the defensive/nuetral zones recently. Not too difficult to figure out.
