i dont know, they said orbit for jovo, thats a different part of the face than zygomatic arch (cheek Bone) which is a fairly common place for plates. if its cheek bone he's ready to go, anything closer to the skull is a different matter. maybe he's just resting while he can or his surgeon knows something we dont.
common jovo, but a cage mask on and tough it up and come back!

The amount of disrespect for Jovo from Coyote fans is ridiculous and tiring. That's not targeted at the two of you (more like 75% of us)...for all I know you are kidding.
Getzlaf missed 14 games over more than 40 days. The puck to face Getzlaf took was pretty brutal but I don't imagine taking a helmet with someone's cranium in it to the face is any more enjoyable.
Hopefully this is a blessing in disguise and Jovo is ready for the playoffs with some extra energy reserved for a long playoff run.
The guy is jinxed. He was still sporting a nasty gash on his cheek from a high stick and then this injury comes along. I can't imagine coming back from a "broken face" is a painless, or quick, recovery.
How old is Getzlaf, and how old is Jovo? Was Getzlaf already injured twice when he took that puck to the face? Is Getzlaf going to be an old UFA at the end of the season?
He is. He has a long history of being tough and playing like a warrior in the playoffs.
Exactly. Jovo-po po lays it all out in the playoffs. He wouldn't be missing time right now if he didn't absolutely have to be. To say otherwise is ludicrous. He'll be back as soon as he can during the stretch here, I'd like to believe.
Is it just me or is Jovo going to be in an pretty awkward position? He's a UFA, not getting paid any more cash to play. Although Im sure he'd love to get in there.
With such a dangerous type of injury, why the heck would he risk additional long term damage to his eyesight by coming back too early when it's not quite healed. Not to mention potentially suffering any kind of relapse would be hugely damaging to any future hockey contract.
I'm not counting on a fast return, although I hope he makes it fit and ready to go.
In hindsight, how good was that move to pick up Klesla?
It was needed with Jovo out for as long as he was. Who knows what would've happened with Schlemko AND OEL playing every night. It would've certainly put a strain on Yandle, Aucoin, Morris, and Rozi having to play big minutes every night. Now that Jovo is back we have one of the, if not THE best defensive corps. in the league.
It does leave me wondering about the future of our D. Will Jovo be back next season? What will happen to OEL and Schlemko next season if he stays? or the season after that?
That doesn't sound like good news on Hanzal at all. If they are hoping for him to be back before the end of the season. How the hell have they had him as "day to day" this whole time?
What the hell happened to him?

There's been rumors about Hanzal needing back surgery. My impression was that he's basically out of the season, just sticking around in case we get really desperate.

Oh I think Jovo is gone at season's end. His salary will be used to fund the increases that we will be paying Bryz and Yandle.
I really want Jovo back, but not at the expense of OEL. Oliver wasn't overwhelmed by the NHL and he would be playing good minutes on any other team that doesn't have the D depth that we have.

I do not like the Yotes chances in a playoff series without a mostly healthy Hanzal.
