Because we'll probably end up with a few draft picks for next year. I was wondering who decides if its a strong draft year. Is everyone assuming this year will be week outside the first round and next year will just be better.
Scouts. Lots of sources are saying the 2011 draft has the potential of the 2008 draft or possibly the 2003 draft that produced many many of the top talent thats currently playing in the NHL today. Parise was drafted with I believe the 17th overall pick.
Just read a link today that says as of now there looks to be 22 Defencemen alone with 1st round potential, and all with possible top 10 ability. Throw in some teams drafting Forwards and some of those 1st round guys will fall into the second round.
Us picking up a 2nd in the trade with Washington ends up being huge in giving us assets to work with.
I think he just became the Caps fans' scapegoat after a while. Some of them are saying outlandish things about how bad he is, which can't possibly all be true, or else they would have sent him down by now.
like i said, the LEAGUE MINIMUM is $500k. so that means hes overpaid by, at most, $600k (and believe me, i dont think he's overpaid). if youre REALLY going to gripe about that, then you have bigger issues on your team
TG asked Lemaire a few games ago whether the lineup would be the same as the previous game. Lemaire's response was: "Probably not. Probably yes." and TG had no idea what that meant.

I think he says things to just fuse off the question. Instead of doing it the Tortorella way, looking like he hates the world saying "look Sam, I'm not going to get into that here, OK?" Lemaire just says something nobody really understands and smiles.
