Jeff Schultz had 4 non-PP primary assists. Mike Green had 16.
Edit: And this year, Schultz has 2 non-PP primary assists. Green has 7.
To be fair, primary assists have hardly anything to do with breakout passes. Also, that could just be indicative of more shots, since shots from the blue line often result in tips, and therefore primary assists.

I'm sorry but are you really under the impression that I think Schultz is a better passer than Green or something? If that is the case I will gladly concede that 6 inch putt.
Schultz makes a decent first pass out of the zone. Green is the best offensive blueliner in the game, even with the team's offensive struggles this season.
Very interested to see if the new guys fit in right away.

Wideman steps in perfectly for Green and makes him obsolete leading us to a Cup win.
Half the board rejoices when Green is shipped out for a great return in the offseason, the other half of the board is sulking and whining but they are not sure why.

You were using Green's stats as an indicator of the quality of Schultz's passing, so I used Green's stats as an indicator of the lack of quality of Schultz's passing.

and then there will be many that see larry murphy all over again.
you are kidding, right? that the only people on this forum that want to keep green have no idea why? really?
I'd be more inclined to call Schultz's passing average (or at least not a detriment) if it weren't for the fact that his decision making is butt****ing awful. Instead of trying to hit the winger from the corner, Schultz likes to wait until people start converging and then blindly throw it back to the weak side defenseman behind the net, who may or may not even be able to get the puck before he too is under the pressure of a heavy forecheck (or the pass is intercepted anyway).
That guy just doesn't have the confidence, skill, smarts, whatever it is, to try to make a decent pass out of the zone without having all damn day to get the courage to do so.
An old theory of mine: bet against a team that just made a trade, bet for a team that just made a coaching change. And bet on the new guy to score a goal (less common in the modern era).
Unless your name is Scott Walker. Then you score 2.

Schultz was tied for 15th in the entire league amongst blueliners in even strength assists last year.
You think Schultz can't pass I think he makes a decent first pass. Lets agree to disagree.
Schultz does make a decent first pass when he is pushed to do so, trouble is the team is more concerned with keeping him comfortable with Green than trying to improve him. Instead of being comfortable making that first pass out of the zone on his own, now his instinct is to dump to puck off to his partner because he's been playing with Green so much.

Funny I remember someone saying this when we got Corvo last year aswell
Your one of the worst posters on this board these days...and thats saying a lot
Really curious to see how Arnott in particular meshes with everyone. The speed issue is manageable enough IMO but they're going to have to become a smarter possession team overall to integrate him and Sturm into the lineup. We'll see if those areas improve or not...it's a big key towards this team becoming formidable.

Semin dicks around at the blue-lines so often that any lack of footspeed shouldn't be an issue.
So, i'll take it you wasn't a fan of his most recent dicking around on the 3rd goal in our last meeting with Islanders?
No. Individualistic play doesn't work in the playoffs. It works once every 4-5 games. Semin is a part of the problem until he buys into the team concept.

Yep...Scoring game-winning goals is such a huge problem.
