Viktor Hertzberg

The only thing that I do know of Viktor Hertzberg is that he is Leblanc's linemate in Montreal after having left Cape Breton. Do you expect that guy to be drafted into the NHL this year? If so, in which round?

I couldn't find any trace of him in the NHL Central Scouting midterm rankings so I assume he has slip under the radar of most NHL teams.

I'm surprised he's not already drafted. Has a chance to be drafted this June.....or may receive an invite to a rookie camp. See more on Hertzberg:

With a weak draft this year I do believe Hertzberg will be drafted this year.

I think it is very tempting to place Hertzberg, despite his injury, on par with the likes of Jurco, considering the season he had, 56 pts in 48 games. Maybe it is a result of playing with Parkes and Leblanc, both of which are PPG+ players. (Parkes has been signed by the Red Wings and may play in the Red Wings' AHL affiliate next season)

However, in the NHL drafting game, http://hfboards.com/showthread.php?t=886420 the guy is a 6th rounder. Personally, I think he won't be a 6th rounder; he'll be taken long before that. Maybe a late 2nd at the highest. But, as he is an overager, it's now or never to draft him.

His numbers have nothing to do with playing with Parkes and Leblanc. He had similar numbers in CB playing with nobody.

If he's picked it'll be a later pick but since he's in the CHL chances are he gets passed over in favor of a contract offer as a UFA.

I think he'll end up playing Pro in Sweden.

Was he passed up because he was injury-prone? Or is there a lot of holes in his game?

He's had a few issues dealing with post-concussion symptoms...but other than that I am not aware of any lingering injuries that would concern NHL teams.

According to Doctor Recchi theory, it ain't true he's dealing with some post-concussion symptoms.

A few scouts have expressed interest in him but his third concussion in one season is a major concern.

Really? No NHL team would even dare draft him or sign him as an UFA prospect? I understand he's injury-prone but he was over a PPG and should produce in the AHL, if drafted/signed as an UFA prospect.

It's possible, but I think the concussions this year will scare teams away leaving the option of staying in the Q or going back to Sweden.

Hi ppl, wanted to ask a question. My team just signed a tryout contract with a Swedish forward who has been in Canada for a couple of seasons and i'm not sure what to make of the guys stats in the QMJHL. What sort of expectations could you have if you put him in a league slightly better than the AHL

The player: Viktor Hertzberg -> http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=9007

Code:
Season	Team	League GP	G	A	TP	PIM Postseason	GP	G	A	TP	PIM
2009-2010 Cape Breton Screaming Eagles QMJHL	67	23	33	56	18	| Playoffs	5	1	0	1	2
2010-2011 Cape Breton Screaming Eagles QMJHL	31	15	21	36	10	|
 	         Montréal Juniors QMJHL	17	9	11	20	2	|
I would be thankfull for any input you may give me about the player or a player with stats like that.

Well Hertzberg is a good all-around player who doesn't mind taking the body and has great hands. He suffered a couple of concussions this year which scared NHL teams away. He definitely has skills and has good long term potential, but I am not sure about the immediate impact he could have on a SEL team.

I believe you have a good young player on your hands who should developp into a solid offensive weapon for your team.

He was always all over the offensive zone when I saw him... really knows where to be to score and has great vision.
