Really PG? really?

I don't even care about Penner, but we did nothing to bring in any more grit.

Lapierre just got dealt to the Canucks.

I won't talk about the Habs inactivity. It was expected.

Lapierre for Joel Perrault and a 3rd, I'd take that over Festerling and a 5th anyday....

Just to show how PG got fleeced - look at ANA's return on Lappy. How could we have gotten less?

As far as today is concerned it went exactly as I expected, we went hard for Penner but would not pay the price in the end, can't say I am complaining, the D prospect the Kings gave up is better at this point than Tinordi IMO, so we would have had to throw something else in there to beat that offer.

Surprise we didn't go after Arnott, or maybe we did and he didn't want to come here, not sure. That is my only question .. did we offer something for Arnott?

People who thought Gomez was going to be traded this weekend were crazy, sure it was nice to think about and a lot of fun to talk about but it wasn't going to happen.

I think this was a failure. Why for the love of god can we not get 1 big, physical power forward that can score 25+ goals. That is what we need. Period. Sorry, but pleks and cammy are going to get stepped on in the playoffs.
I know you have to overpay. If your serious about a cup run, fricking do it.

What about White? Why would he get pulled from practice and told to wait if he was only getting sent down?

Great moves by Canucks.

Mitchell blows, but only 1 CAN team did nothing.

A prospect is going with Lapierre

Habs did nothing, because they're not in the upper part of the league. Philly is a better team than last year and our team isn't built to deal with them.

Better to do nothing than overpay.

Considering what happened today..huge overpayment for Penner in my opinion. No big players really got traded. Gauthier didn't have his 2nd round pick to throw around and I certainly didn't want him to move the 1st. We already moved our 4th and 5th picks.
Unless it's a clear upgrade and for more than just a season, I didn't want to give up anymore picks.

Not surprised the clueless fanbase will whine at Gauthier though.

Would have loved to have gotten Winchester and/or Upshall. There is no way those players were too hard to get. Penner was understandable, but this team could have really used a little jolt of energy today...

Surprised that nobody's posted the obligatory "Habs' Darkest Day" yet. People here seem so depressed.

Can't say I really expected anything. There was a faint glimmer of hope we find a sucker to take gomez but alas some dreams are just not meant to be

I cannot believe Lappy went for more than what we traded him for.

That is unbelievable. That is very, very bad.
