Pick could pay big dividends

http://www.thejournalnews.com/newsro...ersforweb.html

"I don't see us rushing in; I believe we're committed to this plan,'' Renney said. "If it's some guy 33 years old that was all offense, a soft player, a perimeter guy, I would question that myself.''

Does that mean Palffy is not a possibility? Just asking.

I hope so. I would not mind a cheap Center but not a 32 year old 6-7 million $ winger.

i don't know what to think about signing palffy anymore. on one hand the rangers really don't have enough young players to play next season. on the other hand you don't want to sign somebody to a monster contract at this point with the a new cba coming.

i don't really care how much $$ the guy gets, what type of player and what role he is used in (ie how it will effect the kids around him) are the important issues to me...i'd gladly 'waste' the extra $$ to bring in the right guy who will help the rebuild progress (i'm not saying palffy is that guy, just in general)

Roloston would probably be the best with the kids. Demitra wouldn't be a bad move, and Conroy would be good as well...But we need a firts line centerman, and an additional LW. We do not need a RWer, esp. not a RW who is 32 and makes a boat load of money.

I actually just want Demitra, get him in here. If you think about it, he's on 29, so in 5 years, he could still be in his prime and our team would be ready. He'd be a decent guy to build around, i'd say.

Demitra is in his prime right now. Id only give him a one or two year deal, but id sign a guy like Conroy, instead,.
