Doesn't bother me... I'm watching the game, not trying to recognize people out of the audience.

I think they are an impressive way to increase ad revenue. Clever marketing.

Direct your complaints towards the Canucks instead. They're the ones that can lean on SNet to remove the ads.

First couple of games this year they ran Delissio Pizza ads DURING THE PLAY ALONG THE BOTTOM THIRD OF THE SCREEN.

I was so pissed that I complained and said I love Delissio Pizza, but if I ever see another one of those ads I will never buy another in my life. Far be it from to say that my email had any effect, but I never saw the ads again.

Haven't noticed the ones tonight yet though.

I didn't even notice they were there to be honest, I'm concentrated on whats going on in the game, not what's going on in the crowd.

Lesser teams like Blackhawks had them last year. Oh, well, what if it's a good luck charm?

Must suck for the fans sitting behind the nets. Pay good money for tickets and Sportsnet decides to paste giant ads on the glass obscuring their view. Outrageous!

They're not actually visible inside the arena. They're superimposed on the glass by Sportsnet, you can only see them on TV. In fact, if you pay close attention you'll notice they even disappear for certain camera angles.

I was actually just being facetious but I guess that doesn't translate to well on here.

Seriously, if the viewer hasn't seen these digitally superimposed ads before, you haven't been watching much hockey in the last year or baseball for the last few (4?) years. (Yes, I know... if you were watching baseball, you'd be sleeping regardless.)

Televised sports is all about ads. What's new? Every inch of whitespace is considered an opportunity for sales. People complained and moaned when the ads on the boards appeared, and the slowly grew over time to the number that we have today. Then ads showed up painted on the ice. Then embedded in the score banner. Then on Brad Richards' mouthguard! ZOMG!

What's it like in the arena? It's much worse.

What's new? Just don't be a sucker to advertising. Watch the play instead!

Are those Subway logos on the actual glass or put in as an effect like After Effects or Final Cut Pro. I can't see fans being thrilled at games seeing that after paying a 60 to 100 dollars for a ticket. They have to be an added effect by the network airing the game.

Ever since those 5 dollar footlong commercials started airing I wanted to set a Subway on fire.

Blame MSG. They're the ones who started doing that first.

These ones are the ones we should be complaining about, I don't mind advertising without disrupting what I actually want to see, but when the giant ass Ford ad comes and takes away essentially half of the screen, that's where I just laugh at modern advertising.

Oh well. It's not that bad. If it was worse I'd care more but if it puts more money in their pocket I can live with it. It's only distracting now cause it's relatively new to Canucks games. Soon enough it will be tuned out like the rest.

tuned out of our conscious to our subconscious that is, where it festers and becomes an addiction in the form of a tumor.

EDIT: For ****s and gigs
