The Canucks just need a better work level than they had against Columbus, period. They came out and played a completely uninspired game with the fortunate exception of Luongo, who single-handedly stole that game for us(Raymond, Burrows and Torres' shootout goals notwithstanding).
The Preds play a tough, tight game so the Canucks have to be prepared to work hard and slog through it. And then try and beat Rinne once they do...
I'm wondering if AV is going to juggle his forward units. Samuelsson ended up stapled to the bench for most of the 3rd and Tambellini seemed to have some good jump against the Blue Jackets. Wonder if he'll stick with that or give his guys a chance to play through their droughts.
I know they say winning puts people in the seats.. and I agree to an extent.. but how difficult must it be to build a fanbase in Nashville, a very much non-traditional market, with a team that is that boring to watch?
Technically sound forecheck and neutral zone coverage, collapsing men to the net.. It might work in the standings but it makes MLB look like a day at the beach with Charlie Sheen.. and it hasn't exactly been successful in the playoffs either as they have yet to win a series.
Can't help but wonder where they'd be at if their team was more exciting but less consistent.
I'm pretty sure Blum will be back in town; he was on their active roster and scored his first NHL goal recently, don't think he's been sent down. Hopefully he doesn't pull a Lucic.
