If someone signed Parise to an 8million dollar cap hit, waiving Salvador would give them enough cap space to retain him, but they'd be pretty much be in total cap hell.
7.2 million + 2.9 million (Waive Salvador) (Roster drops to 16 players) = 10.1 Million - 8 million (Resign Parise) (Roster increases to 17). Leaves you with 2.1 million and 3 more players to sign to hit 20...yikes. Add cap increases and it becomes a bit more doable but is the roster I pulled off of capgeek even what they're going to be icing next year? Fayne, Josefson, Pelley? Or are they going to have more costly players and how much are those 3 other players going to cost?

question is, how badly do they want cap space --- I would think at the moment not that much
and what would be the deal NYR could live with if TB would consider deal...
They have 22 million before they start resigning players and free agents. Gagne is coming off the books at 5.25 and the cap is increasing. They have no reason to move Hedman. Even Chicago found a way to resign Seabrook, you don't think Tampa is going to figure out how to fit these guys in...c'mon.
