I'm gonna guess no and that we see him in LA.

I wanted a .500 trip, and they're still on track for that. None of the games were going to be easy with everyone so tightly packed.

I'd be shocked to see him play tomorrow, if he didn't play or even practice today.

Hope I'm proven wrong though.

Why do our biggest GDT's continue to be losses?

Already around 100 posts ahead of the Yotes game thread.

Everyone was on the main board thread for that one. Plus it was late. And we were all dying of stress.

I will be very interested to see who starts in goal tomorrow. I guess on one hand you ask if Raycroft doesn't start tomorrow, when does he start down the stretch? On the other hand after the events of tonight they really need a huge bounceback tomorrow and Lehtonen has the best chance to provide them with that chance.

Fact of the matter is, if we even make the playoffs, we're going nowhere with this atrocious defense. A 3-1 lead going into the 3rd would be locked down by the likes of VAN and DET. I blame Tom Hicks

If Raycroft doesn't start tomorrow or Monday against the Kings, then Lehtonen is going to be done before the playoffs. It makes a lot of sense to start Raycroft tomorrow, plus the last game in San Jose Raycroft played great.

Playoffs is a whole different season. By then will have Grossman back and that will help our defense a lot, and Richards will also be in the line up and god will that help...
It's possible we make a run but we need a healthy roster, but let's just focus on getting into the playoffs first.

Anaheim did the same exact thing they did to us tonight, to Detroit two nights ago.

Not a 3-1 lead but they still blew a lead and lost in overtime.

I agree, it's just we're entering the most critical part of the season and games like this call into question this teams mental toughness. Ill say this, the game against LA will determine A LOT! If we can bounce back then we'll make it, if we turtle, forget it.

That is a hard decision, but Raycroft must play so that Kari can save himself for future tests. Hopefully he can play better than he has of late.

Sucks to lose tonight to the fooking Ducks and to a d-man who just seems to have our number.

This team has looked dead in the water and like Cup contenders at various points in the season. What they need to do is continue to pick up points at a fairly steady clip, nothing else.

5 points from this trip (a very, very tough one) would be a great start. They need two more from the final two games of the swing to do that. The more points, the better obviously. But freaking out about one game in the context of an entire season ends up giving you too many ulcers.

Right, but not 2 games in a row. The PP winner by Benn was fortunate for us, but nevertheless we blew a lead late.

This just screams you don't understand playoff hockey. Defense has always been what wins the Stanley Cup. If you honestly think we can make it past the 2nd round with our current defense roster including a healthy Grossman your overly optimistic. All it takes is 1 injury to Robida or Goose and we are screwed. Philly acquired all that defensive depth for a reason this year. This is one of the main reasons I dislike the "Lets go for playoffs" mentality that prevented us from shopping Richards. Getting blown out in the 1st round by Van or Detroit is the most realistic outcome. Unless we can somehow get our **** together and get a top 6 spot come April.

And the two final goals by Anaheim (and the last one by by Phoenix) weren't fortunate for them?

Let's see, Ducks get away with a slew of penalties that lead to a d-zone face off, puck gets to an open Selanne off a broken play. Ducks draw a legit call but one a bit out of context with the nothing called the rest of the game for the game winner.

Phoenix gets the game tying-goal when one of their players actually partially whiffs on a shot.

There are a lot of bounces, and you can almost always say the winner "was fortunate" in a close game.
