It wouldnt surprise me if he is good to go, but isnt willing.
I'll take a link on that one, please. Hemsky has always struck me as just the opposite type of player.

It wouldn't surprise me if management isn't willing to risk more serious injury to our best player just to keep our AHL team's playoff hopes alive.

Good old Hemsky.
Ideally he'll be back in time for those Calgary games. He will hopefully remind us of our dilemma.
Our best player, who should be entering his best years is injury prone.

The question of what to do with him might be the defining moment for this team for next year and maybe even the next 5 years. I'm glad they aren't rushing the decision. See what is available at the draft and just be patient.

With Hall/Eberle we might finally have the two line attack that is necessary to win some games.
I'd rather they grab an (or two) experienced ufa dman like Markov, Brewer, Wisniewski, Ehroff, Hejda or Bieksa than trade Hemsky for a "upside" young dman. We have the cap room, use it.

If Hemmer is injured all next year too, then well, he'll sign for cheap.

Hemsky is so good when he's in the groove.

Anyone know where the shoulder is at?
Is it the same one as before??

Any links with good sources stating something?
They initially said 2-3 weeks. This coming Tuesday will be 2 weeks.

It also says that Whitney is done for the season but there has been lots of talk that he may be back for the last couple games.

Talk that he'd like to come back, not that he has a good shot of actually doing it. Big difference.

#1 - Hemsky was hurt on March 1st.
#2 - Oilers didnt even play of February 20th
#3 - Hemsky is still listed as out for 2-3 weeks on the website. It hasnt been 2 weeks yet.
#4 - Funny coincidence - Gaborik was hurt on February 20th. He only missed a couple weeks though. Could the reporter be getting his players mixed up?

tencer says hemsky knew about the injury for a while and played through the pain, and kept quiet about it...

Yep Renney mentioned three more call ups before Thursday's game. Poor OKC.

*lol* Again? How old is he?
But it is clear that he don't want to miss a game in our sc run season...
Wish we would had traded him at trade deadline. Talmbellini missed that opportunity.
Hemsky won't tradeable anymore.

Well, he should be ready to go for camp this year lol...basically makes him a guarantee to stay an oiler through the draft and the summer.

Do those 3 get sent back down after thursday's game to play friday in OKC and then called back for saturday?

I suspect the Oil will be signing someone pretty quick.

Uh, I clearly remember you stating that you hoped Penner would be traded and Hemsky staying because Hemsky is better.

Hemsky was tearing **** up before the trade deadline with an injured shoulder. He's the Anti-Pitkanen.

I think Ales is going to have to take a more modest next contract.

Afinogenov (similar player) could not get anyone to overpay for him on the UFA market, and that was after coming off a good, relatively healthy season.

Hemmer might as well stay now if he's stayed this long and be part of it all when Hall/Eberle/etc. hit their stride.

Ugh, just what my fantasy team needs, as I'm battling for the last playoff spot, Gagner and Hemsky out for the year, and of course yahoo hasn't made them eligible to go on IR yet!
